To think ‘most people’ don’t get their windows cleaned this often?

Disagreement in our house today. Do ‘most people’ (which after some discussion was pinned down to people in 30s/40s in eg 3 bed semi with a kid or two 😅) have their windows cleaned every 6-8 weeks?

YABU - of course they do
YANBU - definitely not ‘most’

I feel like I'm some kind of clean freak for a monthly clean! But my house has quite a few big trees nearby and the windows do actually get grimy over a month and are noticeably cleaner once done.

Window cleaner comes once a month.

Same here but we've been in the house about 7 years now and they look fine. I wouldn't be able to tell you which of my neighbours have their windows washed they all look the same to me.

I've not had mine done since I moved in...6 years ago. It's great as it means I don't need curtains 🙂

Based on my day to day observations (a very scientific approach to research) no one has their windows cleaned at all. I haven’t seen a window cleaner cleaning windows for years.

That being said, ours comes out every three months or so.

Never. The rain does it. We’d rather spend the money on other things.

The only time i asked a window cleaner to quote i did notice he was crafty insisting there was no option for a one off clean, it was sign up for an unnecessarily regular clean or get nothing.

I went for nothing.

Threads like these make me realise why I've got more money than most people, they are all pissing it away on window cleaners every two weeks and nails every 3, highlighs every 6 weeks, replacing all their pillows every 2 years and mattresses every 5 etc!

We've been in our current house 15 years and never had windows cleaned. Neighbours seem to get theirs done every 6 weeks

Why didn’t it occur to me to do this. I hate cleaning hr inside windows tbh I can never get them clean!

No window cleaner here! Been living in current place for 7 years and they look ok to me. Might book one in as a one off to see what we’re missing…

Every 2 months outside and every 4 months inside

Once a month, plus our window cleaner does the insides as well.

Every 2 months. The window cleaner initially offered monthly and I asked for 2monthly, which he was fine with.

Outside every 6 weeks.

inside …. Not so much.

I used to have mine done every two months.
The window cleaner vanished two years ago and I've not got round to finding another one. No one else in my street has it done, it was just me and an old lady.

I used to have a window cleaner who came once a month, but it seemed a bit too frequent so he didn't last very long. I only wash them when I can't tell if it's raining or not due to the light layer of grime on the outside.

I do ours myself when they start to annoy me, probably twice a year for prominent windows and once every three years for windows in bedrooms and bathrooms. I clean the insides more frequently.

Every 6-8 weeks here. But I did go for more than a decade without having them done in this house and never bothered in the previous 2 places. I don’t choose when he comes, he sends a text the night before. Think that’s pretty normal.

Every 3 months but they’re filthy by then

In previous houses we were every 5 weeks, and about half the close had them done on same day. It was 5 weeks because that was how often he came.

We’ve been in this house 3.5 years and not had them cleaned yet but to be fair it’s been in continuous renovation all that time and seemed pointless.

When I move I will get them done again I expect.
