To think ‘most people’ don’t get their windows cleaned this often?

Disagreement in our house today. Do ‘most people’ (which after some discussion was pinned down to people in 30s/40s in eg 3 bed semi with a kid or two 😅) have their windows cleaned every 6-8 weeks?

YABU - of course they do
YANBU - definitely not ‘most’

We have ours done every 4 weeks. We're due a clean now and the windows looks visibly dirty.

I wipe the insides regularly and windowsills too.

We live on a new build estate and you can really tell the houses that have their windows cleaned vs those who don't. I'm not judging, I don't care if other people have a window cleaner or not but it is obvious.

And how dirty do they get in 2 weeks??

We do every 6 weeks but we had lived in our house for 2 years before we first cleaned them(!) Ours is quite cheap at £20

They have very shiny windows. 😆 once a year outside is enough.

My window cleaner to be only offers every 4 or 8 weeks. I just need twice a year but it’s not an option.

Yeah, they're great for blocking out sun and nosey neighbours. And of course not looking at the filthy windows 😆 On three little ropes that they slide up and down on, landlady had them made.

About twice a year! It's a 3 storey house with quite a few windows, it seems to cost a lot.

Mine used to be every 2 weeks (it was either that or I had to do them myself which was impossible) but then they dropped it down to monthly

We get our windows done every two months. Our house is three storey with 16 windows so a window cleaner is essential.

Ours get done every month. They don’t always need it, but our window cleaner doesn’t offer any flexibility on that and it’s only £8 anyway!

Once a month for us. Though we’ve only had the window cleaner for the last 2 years. Before that we just struggled to (rarely) do it ourselves.

I have no idea what most people do but our window cleaner comes monthly

Twice a year done by me, when the spiders cobwebs on the outside get too big!

The inside of my house, the windows get cleaned monthly by me, which is bonkers as you cant see out of them clearly cos of the outside 🤣🤣🤣🤣 i hate having to get the hose out etc.... too much effort and a window cleaner quoted £45 every 6 weeks to do them!!!

Every 6 weeks. Like many of my neighbours….cos that’s when he does his rounds.

Every 6 weeks here - used to be every 4 but I had to switch window cleaners

My husband does ours so it’s about 3/4 times a year , my sister has a window cleaner monthly .

Twice in 7 years. The window cleaner kept messaging me every few months, I kept saying No. He got the message 😂

window cleaning any more than 3 times a year seems wasteful to me. Why is everyone doing it monthly? They barely get dirty!

I have had mine cleaned once in 15 years. They looked exact the same after 2 days so I figure there’s just no point. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Our window cleaner calls every 6-8 weeks. In autumn he cleans out the gutters, too.

I wouldn’t like to say how often the insides of the windows get cleaned! Nothing like that often, anyway!

We’re mid 30s with 4 children. Our window cleaner comes once a month. This is pretty normal on my road. He does most houses.

Every other month and pay £15. Can't say that I notice when they need doing. Window cleaner is a lovely chap with a young family so always say yes when he asks if I need them doing.

I get them cleaned a few times over the summer. Then they stay dirty for 6 months over the winter 😆

All those saying the rain cleans them, do you ever wash your car?

I had new windows put in in 2018 (I can remember as scaffolders came round during Harry and Meghan’s wedding!)

They have never been cleaned.

I had got rid of the previous window cleaner who really pissed me off in 2007. So maybe in a few years I will be due for more new windows!
