To think this is not abscene…but fairly normal?!

I have moved house and I finally have a walk in wardrobe. I’ve decided to hang everything except trousers. Friend said this was an obscene amount of clothing and laughed so much. I think it’s not that crazy 😅 what do you think obscene or normal? 🤣 this is just the top section, next section over is dresses and coats etc.

Definitely, definitely not obscene. I have more tops than that for sure! In my old apartment I had a huuuge walk in wardrobe, recently moved into a house with a smaller wardrobe- it’s a four door one and just about fits all my summer clothes in. All winter clothes are in storage in the ottoman and it’s full. Excited for the autumn switchover.
The only thing I’d say about your clothes is how similar/samey everything looks, maybe she meant it more in a “it’s obscene how many of the same thing you have?” kind of way, as if to say there’s no need for so much, when it’s all so similar?

Lifestooshort6591 · 10/08/2025 19:46

Not unusual amount. So organised!

Kitchenbattle · 10/08/2025 19:46

Overthebow · 10/08/2025 19:32

Why do you have so many of the same pair of shoes in different shades of green? Other then that I’d say fairly normal.

🤣🤣🤣 I like green and some are newer and some are older. One pair is actually navy.

Not obscene but is it really worthy of two threads?

You started the one the other day about the same wardrobe.

That was a different question, I was sorting stuff, and before the obscene comment…

Crazy amount of clothes! I’d be bagging and down the charity shop 😄

I did send some off 🫣

This is probably similar to what I had, maybe actually less, but I'm moving soon so have been clearing out...between vinted, charity and just rubbish I've easily got rid of 15 bags of clothes and shoes. I'm actually disgusted with myself and have vowed to cut down my purchases and only buy good quality staples that I'll actually wear regularly.

I wear a uniform at work so realistically I don't even need much...

So, it is normal, loads of us have obscene and unnecessary amounts of clothing, but doesn't mean it's a good thing!

pushthebuttonnn · 10/08/2025 19:48

Love it! Wish mine were like that. Inspiring. Thanks for sharing 👍

glammymommy · 10/08/2025 19:49

I've got 13 boxes of my winter wardrobe packed up. Of course not growing since I was about 15 and always shopping in charity shops helps, or should I say hinders the clothes hoarding. You're fine. I always say that since I've got fewer shoes than Immelda Marcos I'm doing OK, you are fine. British climate requires many clothes, we've got to be prepared for changes in weather over the day.

PestoHoliday · 10/08/2025 19:39

Holy shit, that's 72 tops! That's absolutely loads.

7 black t-shirts, for heaven's sake. Why would you need an entire week's worth of black unless you're a) working a salon or b) a ninja.

Can I be a ninja? 🤣 yes I wear them A LOT!

Not obscene at all it’s just very well organised. I have clothes all over the place in draws, wardrobes, cases in the garage (winter). My wardrobe is bursting at the seems.

SilverpetalShine · 10/08/2025 19:50

Looks fine to me...I up cycle, reuse and customize before I recycle. I have three wardrobes....you'll get no pain from me lol.

JamDisaster · 10/08/2025 19:50

I suspect it looks more than it is because you can actually see everything. I initially thought “what a lot of T-shirts” but then realised I have about the same, it’s just I never see all mine set out like that because they’re crammed into a drawer.

Kitchenbattle · 10/08/2025 19:50

Imacaroni · 10/08/2025 19:43

There’s a spelling mistake in your title.

So there is…oops

All your clothes look exactly the same 😂

toiletpiper · 10/08/2025 19:51

I can't see any shoes!

toiletpiper · 10/08/2025 19:52

I have actually got about 70 tops listed on Vinted

thebear1 · 10/08/2025 19:52

I'm just very envious of your storage. Looks a fab set up. A lot of my clothes look similar but often have small differences.

JustMeHello · 10/08/2025 19:53

I don't find it particularly obscene, but what really strikes me is the lack of colour. It makes me wonder whether the range of colours in my wardrobe is unusual.

Maybe she did mean that, I do tend to stick to a style, I know it works for me so I just stick to it. I should try to branch out a bit more perhaps 🤔

Mine and my husbands clothes would fit in there, I think as long as they can be stored properly without the washing basket being half full then quantity is fine clothing wise.

roseymoira · 10/08/2025 19:54

It looks like the wardrobes on cartoons like The Simpsons where they are full of the same outfit

That's what I meant, but you said it better!

Yeah I’m not a big colour person, reds, oranges, yellows don’t suit me at all. I’m drawn to greens, navy, black, cream, white and blush pink.

Definitely not obscene. I would say that’s fairly low lol. But that might just be me lol. Looks fab .
