There are so many wonderful examples of these, please share your favourites. Bonus points for links.

I remember one when OP was annoyed if the cost of children's birthday gifts weren't higher than the cost of hosting the party per child.

And the classic from a few weeks ago when OP thought it was ok to block the shared driveway and thought their neighbour who lived at the end was the unreasonable one.

I bet there are better ones out there though...

I’ve never seen the dinosaur one, just read it out to my husband and we are dying.

That was absolute comedy gold.

Oh my! It’s so well written that it somehow elevates the comedic aspect more so. I just can’t believe it’s real though! OPs descriptions of her husband’s reaction are like something out of a comedy show. I can imagine them being a comedy couple on something like Catherine Tate show!

It's got to be the supersoaker one. Sorry can't find it right now but think it's in classics, will try and search later.

I was also going to say the supersoaker! Pages and pages of a woman absolutely determined that she wasn’t in the slightest bit unreasonable to let her DS take his supersoaker when he’d specifically been asked not to because she thought it would be “fun”, despite absolutely unanimous responses that she was totally unreasonable.

The irony is that the poster was lovely and normal and sensible and considerate usually! But just couldn't see the issue.

FreeWifi · 30/07/2025 19:46

No link but one OP was devastated as her mil had taken her four month baby into the garden and given her her ‘first time standing on grass’ and she had missed it.

Funnywonder · 30/07/2025 19:48

Not really an unreasonable AIBU, but there was one a few years ago about a dog running onto someone’s picnic blanket and causing mayhem. There may have been wee or poo involved or I might be making that up, but there was definitely scoffing of food. There are similar threads on Mumsnet from time to time (there was one a week or two ago) but the OP’s description of what happened had the tears rolling down my face. I wish I knew where to start looking for it.

There ought to be a sort of ‘hall of fame’ section where a post can get upvoted by users for its hilarity factor and these OPs can have official icon status. And these memorable threads safely filed for easy access when anyone needs a quick pick me up! 😅

It’s got to be steak-cut chips and perfect pairings in M&S. - I think there was also something about a buffalo or maybe a bison from the same poster.

That's a troll

@Everlore
A world of thank-you's for reminding me of this one.
Quite possibly THE funniest thing I have ever read on here 🤣
Made funnier by the fact it went on for days. The OP kept coming back with another reason why it wouldn't be unreasonable for her to crash the party 😂
Please 🙏🏻 can one of you wonderful lot post the link?

The one where a mother of adult children, who no longer lived at home, had not invited her to a Halloween party they were holding for their friends. She was very upset not to be invited and was asking if it would be unreasonable for her to turn up anyway. Despite all of the posts urging her not to crash a party full of her kids similarly aged friends, who would probably find the presence of the host's mum acting as a chaperone quite weird, she was insistent that she couldn't see anything wrong with it. She was adamant that she would be a great help as she could bring some nice food and help her son's wife prepare food in the kitchen, which suggested a charming naivety about what twenty somethings often get up to at parties!

Did we ever find out if the OP went to the party?

Page 40 | Would you find this rude/be hurt by this? (Halloween party) | Mumsnet

A halloween party with over 20 people invited. Couple are hosting it but they didn't invite the man's parents who live less than an hour drive away...

I remember a young lady who thought it was really unfair she couldnt just give up her job, buy some land abroad and set up a farm to live off. It was a really ‘unique’ idea and she deserved to do it and have that kind of life. She didn’t like anyone tell her that actually running a farm was really hard work and she couldn’t just potter about all day. I thought it might be a troll but she got genuinely very angry when anyone tried to ruin her dreams and she was planning on/actually set up a go fund me. It was so ridiculous!

MyCatsAreFuckwits · 30/07/2025 20:09

@MrBallenIsaFittie
From memory I don't think she did.
.....I'm just trying to find the thread.....unsuccessfully 😭

I love you x

BreezyAquaCrow · 30/07/2025 20:36

Does anyone remember the one where the OP was furious that her husband used the oven on a warm day because it was making her dog hot? Think she was putting wet blankets on the dog. She was bonkers!

latetothefisting · 30/07/2025 20:48

Just re-read the fashionista on the Eurotunnel one. Best thing about it is it starts " sorry if it was covered before...."
Oh yeah, comes up every week that topic 😂

ExercicenformedeZ · 30/07/2025 21:05

Mine was the one who had four children with her ex who she claimed was mentally ill and so couldn't pay, nor did he want to see the children. Why asked why on earth she had had four children in short succession with a deadbeat, she said she 'loved the baby and toddler stage'. She wanted to make her crazy ex have 50/50 even though he was totally unfit. I just felt so so sorry for those poor children, that she had doted on them as little ones but just found them a drag and they grew older. I hope that they are doing ok and somehow realise they are worth more than what either of their useless parents could give them.

Twattiest colleague ever - this is possibly my favourite thread of all time.

This is bloody brilliant… ‘he makes about 3 jokes a day about me travelling in from France’ 🤣🤣🤣 I really want to know if she owned it and have him an egg!!!

It’s the bit where she says that security escorted her out that got me and that she had frightened an old lady 😂

The woman who got angry everytime her husband expresses an emotion because she can “feel it”
