Vaping is EVERYWHERE

So the kids are off on summer holidays and I am trying to find nice activities to do. Went to the cinema yesterday, and a father with her young daughter, just gets out his vape and has a puff right in front of me while we were waiting to go in.

Then today at a play centre, Im sat in the cafe and a mother gets out her vape and surreptitiously has some of the vape and the oncoming plume of smoke...in my bloody direction.

I've been in Tesco, and someone just used it casually as you like. When I mentioned it to staff, they just shrugged their shoulders....I didn't see it.

Its bad enough people inflicting others with their noisy phones, but why oh why do people do this?!! In areas where kids are playing???? I dont care that you are addicted...that is not my problem!! People who smoke are addicted and would never dream of lighting up a cig!!!

You're not wrong. And people who wouldn't have dreamt of smoking cigarettes seem to think vapes are perfectly fine!

Its the fact they have it in their hand all the time. One time, I went for a meal in a pub and a woman was told to put it away because she kept using it.....then had the audacity to look pissed off! Lol.

I agree. I've seen it frequently on buses recently. I said something once when it was two young teenagers directly in front of me and the vape was blowing in my face, but on other occasions I've not felt comfortable challenging.
It's so anti-social!

Totally not unreasonable. A young woman blew vape in my direction as we were going into the tube recently. I said (to my son) “that’s disgusting.” Sweet pungent cherry gloop. She turned round and told me I was disgusting. I’m happy to challenge within reason, grumpy old woman that I am. But staff don’t seem to care.

I think people must think it is not harmful to inhale it passively, which is not true.
Sinage and enforcement needs to be unambiguous.

By the way I’m in the Med at the moment. Only vaper I’ve seen was a British teen. But the numbers of smokers is off the scale. Did a trip with some locals this morning. All smoked a lot. 2 fags during a half hour stop for snorkeling by way of example. But vaping is definitely a lot worse in the Uk than other European countries.

I miss smokers 😂 a grown woman on the bus had her head in her jacket puffing away on her vape plums of fruit cocktail just floated down the bus ! I thought my god .get a grip woman.

A friends husband has lung problems that they suspect from vaping he has stopped vaping but he has to use an inhalor for his breathing.

I find the sudden popularity of vaping over the last few years very strange. Tighter rules were brought in about smoking, and cigarettes and tobacco had to be kept under a hidden section in shops - smoking levels seemed to really be going down, especially amongst teenagers. Then out of nowhere - vaping. And made as attractive to teenagers as possible and sold in full view in the supermarket aisles and specialist shops.
I'd love to know which big companies are making money out of this.

I agree, in Salou seems majority of Spanish here smoke,yuk. Only seen English ppl vape( young ppl really).
Sadly googled 25% Spanish adults smoke, compared to 12% British. 13% British adults vape, only just over 1% of Spanish vape.
Cigarettes are less than £5 a pack here. What I don't understand is the amount of Spanish ppl smoking near kids.🤷‍♀️

I am not antivape i smoked cigarettes for 30 years so i understand how antisocial it is to invade peoples spaces with fumes

It’s the fact that vapers do it where smoking is banned. I was on a national express and the coach driver had it in his hand with the wheel.

It absolutely does create a plume of smoke. I watched the woman in the cafe create that in front of my eyes!

If it created a plume of smoke then it wasn’t a vape. Vapes create steam. Like a kettle. HTH.

I have seen so many people on dating apps that say they dont smoke (ive even filtered smokers out where i can) yet there's multiple pictures of them puffing on a vape.

Its almost as if they've been brainwashed into thinking its not even close to smoking but I see it as exactly the same thing.

Vapes create a cloud of water vapour, which may or may not be strongly scented. You may find the sweet smell unpleasant but it's really not harmful when breathed in second hand.
I'm not a vaper myself and would prefer if people didn't do it in public spaces indoors, but this scaremongering is ridiculous.
As for the fact that it has been in someone else's lungs...so has all the rest of the air around us!
