Posting here because of the previous thread about thong bikinis. Now let me point out that in NO time in my life have I had the figure to wear a thong bikini. I have nothing against them but I do wonder what the appeal is. If you are proud of your body and want to show off as much of it as possible, I get that. I can also understand wearing thong knickers for the no line look. But why wear a thong bikini? Is it cooler (as in temperature)? If it more comfortable than a normal bikini? Is it easier to swim in? You want your fanny tanned? I am asking a sincere question.

I don’t see the appeal of wearing a thong bikini or pants personally. Find them extremely uncomfortable. But each to either own.

I'm planning to get one because my arse is one of my best features 🤣 other people have great boons and there is no stigma to cleavage so I'm bringing back the rear cleavage.

Plus, if I'm brutally honest, after reading thst thread, I'm probably going to get a bit of a thrill knowing that a bit of butt seems to piss some people off so much. People that get so wound up are worth winding up.

I passed a cyclist yesterday and he was wearing very thin lycra with a thong underneath. I needed eye bleach.

Some people like them. Some people don’t wear bras. Saggy breasts visibly on show may offend some people more. Swings and roundabouts.

I don’t own anything else, all my swimwear is cheeky or thong style. It’s flattering, comfortable for me and you don’t get that awful saggy butt feeling. I didn’t even think about it as a thing, people were saying it’s inappropriate around colleges and attention seeking but I wear mine on holidays with the extended family without scandal.

I think it’s so that people can see your arse cheeks. Not sure why people want that though.

I’ve decided I’m going to start wearing one in my 70s. I mean I’m already at the stage of not giving a shit what people think of me physically but that is an extra level thing I need to inure myself to. I used to wear thongs up until my mid 40s so I reckon I can manage it. They look pretty stupid though I must admit. Irrespective of how peachy the bum is.

Depends on the context. On a hot foreign beach, maybe. The local swimming pool or waterpark, not very classy.
