To hope that Trump gets his Nobel Peace Prize?

I do not like anything about the man.

BUT, he is clearly after peace. I think he wants peace for two reasons; one, to enable more golf time, and two, to win a Nobel Peace Prize.
I don’t think the reason is because he is super kind and thoughtful or anything.

I think that his odd and unpredictable behaviour is starting to make other world leaders afraid of him (not to be confused with respect).
When others say ‘don’t do this or we will sanction you’ he says ‘don’t break your nuclear rules or I’ll bomb you’ and then proceeds to actually do so without delay.

This strange, autocratic, narcissistic style will either lead to huge issues, or might just be crazy enough to make other tyrants think twice about how they act. Enabling more time for golf.

I probably haven’t explained it very well. But his actions, whatever we think of them, have pretty much stopped the fledgling Israel/Iran war in its tracks. I wonder how long it would have gone on with nothing but disapproving glances and aid from the western world.

To reiterate: I don’t like Trump, I don’t think he’s right, but I do have to wonder whether his slightly unhinged leadership style might not scare the rest of the world into behaving a bit better.

If you think Trump wants peace in the wider world for any other reason to line his pockets, you are delusional. He is a gross cretin of a human who is incapable of thinking of anyone other than himself.

That has to be the most deliberately self-deceiving sentence I have ever heard.

It actually made me laugh out loud at the sheer bare faced self-deception!

I'm not surprised to hear you find war crimes amusing. After all, you're attempting to defend the indefensible.

The problem would be, what would Trump consider peace? Because peace is not just an absence of bombing/shooting, it also includes stability and rebuilding.

I could see Trump happily cause a regime change in Iran and call that 'peace', then walk away whilst the country fell into chaos because there is nobody who could step in and provide stable government - there is no opposition (all killed) and the country would soon descend into anarchy - but he'd still call that 'peace'.

Likewise, he'd call Russia bombing Ukraine into surrender 'peace', but Ukraine would be destroyed and every European country would be arming for the inevitable outward push for Russia to regain the Soviet Union - but Trump would still call that 'peace' and expect a reward for it.

We are unlikely to get peace from Trump's actions. His inconsistent behaviour might encourage caution amongst countries considering aggression, but it still wouldn't be peace, just cold war and terrorism.

People who conflate Hamas with Palestine have an understanding of politics so simplistic it wouldn't get them a pass at GCSE. And it is these people who elect or endorse men like Trump, because they're terrified of complexity and find the simplicity of a Strongman appealing.

A war crime that is actually happening because of Hamas following the tradition of previous Palestinian groups, such as the PLO to illegally use civilians as human shields. Let me know if you need some basic refresher on what constitutes a war crime.

A state deliberately targeting children are committing war crimes. We already know it's a war crime to deliberately target civilians never mind starving the population. The Hague are getting a comfy bed ready.

… children growing up around this abhorrent behaviour (Hamas) their whole lives seeing it as normal - are going to turn around one day and say, actually do you know what.. I’m not going to copy them and follow that road, I’m going to be a nice person and not murder and rape people. Come off it.
