Hot weather.

Anyone else just want this hot weather to fuck right off? I've had enough of it already and apparently we're in for at least another 2 weeks of it. 🤬 I'm made out to be a killjoy when I say I'm not enjoying it. Does everyone else really love it,or are they just saying it for fear of being thought odd (like me!).

Im not a fan of the hot weather. Definitely prefer winter over summer.
Its not too bad at the moment I can cope with it but if it gets any more hotter then I will start the ‘I hate this weather’ moan😂

JoshLymanSwagger · 17/06/2025 17:49

Hate it.
The heat sets of DHs angina.
Roll on autumn.

Ceejay9 · 17/06/2025 17:50

Absolutely hate it too!!!
Can't wait for September!!

MsNevermore · 17/06/2025 17:53

I hated it when I still lived in the UK.
A heat wave in England just feels claggy and sticky and gross. Always feels hotter than it actually is because of the building designed to insulate heat.
I live in an actual desert now, and while it gets hotter than the surface of the sun (currently 35.5°C at 9:51am with the high set to be 41.1°C by midday), it’s a dry heat. We only average around 10% humidity this time of year, so it’s not that sweaty, sticky type of heat that happens in the U.K.
And we have air conditioning in our homes 🫠🫠🫠 not just an electric fan pushing the hot air around like I had in the U.K.

Come up to Scotland. It's certainly not not here. I've been under my heated blanket all day!

ilovesooty · 17/06/2025 17:58

I'm in Greece. I'm hoping it will be hot in England when I get home. It wasn't all that warm when I left last week.

GasPanic · 17/06/2025 18:06

It's fantastic to have warm weather at last after last years endless rain and the dark cold winter.

Looks like it will be great for the next 2 weeks. Let's hope a bbq summer is on the way.

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 17/06/2025 18:06

I love it!

If you're coming home in the next 10 days,it will be around 29/30 degrees!

The south east London area always seems to be the hottest part of the country!

I like drying my washing. But I’m finding it difficult to sleep and waking up early. Assuming I do sleep that is!
Have to wear closed in shoes for work and my feet are killing at the end of the day.

GinnyandGeorgia · 17/06/2025 18:10

I am not being argumentative, but I am south London and it's not that hot?
Yes it's sunny during the day, it's June, but I had to close most of the windows last night it was getting too chilly.

I love maxi dresses in hotter days, gives a nice breath.

I do get sweaty if i go for a run at lunch time, but I quite like it.

smallglassbottle · 17/06/2025 18:10

My feet are sore because I have to wear indoor trainers as my feet are problematic and I have hypermobility and wear orthotics. They're now too hot in these wretched trainers. I've ordered some ortho type sandals from Amazon and hope they'll be suitable. I used to wear pillow slides, but they don't give enough side stability. Compared to my feet, my body is relatively cool.

WoahThreeAces · 17/06/2025 18:11

I love it! Big fan of summer. I get to wear floaty dresses and little shorts and the sun makes me feel fabulous 😎

tillyandmilly · 17/06/2025 18:12

I dislike it as feel tired and sleepy - long for the freshness to return - 18 degrees is lovely and perfect for me - ! I hope its not like this up in Derby in July as it will ruin my holiday as won’t have any energy to do any sightseeing!

GinnyandGeorgia · 17/06/2025 18:13

Its not the shoes the problem, sounds like it's more the socks.

MyIvyGrows · 17/06/2025 18:14

Yes, I love it. In the north (with a north east facing living room) so it never gets ridiculously hot. Love doing loads of washing and not having to lug coats or jackets or hoodies around with me.

Chocolateorange22 · 17/06/2025 18:15

I'm not a hot weather fan - gingers unite

However after last years cold, wet summer I am not too fussed at the moment. Getting the hang of keeping the curtains shut on the right side of the house at the right time now. Kids seem more bothered at school pick up time than anything else. Have to say that the Tescos I was in earlier felt so cold that I wished I had a jumper.

TheSoapyFrog · 17/06/2025 18:16

I hate it! My head and face sweat so much. I always look like I've just been swimming because my hair is soaked with sweat! It's hard to sleep but the heat makes me so tired.

I much prefer spring and autumn.

Dappy777 · 17/06/2025 18:16

Hate it. I love the sun, but this heat can f right off. Anything above 70 is too hot for me. It just doesn’t suit the U.K. This island is too crowded. There are too many cars, too many houses, and too many people. When it gets hot, my stress levels go through the roof. If I lived in an empty desert, I could cope. But when you’ve got narrow roads choked with traffic and endless new build housing estates all around you, the heat is torture.

Really? Bloody hell. I'd happily send you some heat/sun.

This temperature would have be ok for me prior to the strokes. But now I'm finding it hard to cope with.

Not helped by the fact my stoke affected side feels freezing cold. But I can't do anything to 'warm it up' as it just makes the rest of me hot enough to pass out.

can't take cool showers for the 'ok' side as the 'not ok side' is already hurting with 'the cold'

during the winter I thought summer would help...I was SO wrong. 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

I am enjoying the long light hours though 😊

WhatNoRaisins · 17/06/2025 18:17

I'm trying not to be negative but honestly I'm not looking forward to it at all. I quite like a pleasant summers day where I can eat my lunch outside but not when it's so hot that I break out in a sweat just from moving around.

Helpmeplease2025 · 17/06/2025 18:17

Nope, it’s glorious

greengreyblue · 17/06/2025 18:18

I like it up to about 25c. The classroom I work in is unbearable and no AC. I do like getting loads of washing done and dried quickly and I love the evening dog walks and sitting out when the sun has lost its strength.

DJSteves · 17/06/2025 18:18

I find it easier in the 45 degree dry heat of Riyadh that the muggy humidity of a UK summer
