How is David Walliams so fucking creepy….

He’s on This Morning right now. He makes my skin crawl. Him and Ben Shepherd together is like the duo from Hell.

YANBU - he’s such a creepy man

The only author whose books I don’t allow. I mean, obviously I don’t yank them off my children but I never buy them and if one was given as a gift I’d subtly get rid of it or offer to swap it. Total creep and his books have horrible meanness in them.

Did he? What did Sean Locke say about him? I have several good friends who worked with Sean Locke over the years and they hadn't a bad word to say about him. They all adored him, so I'd be interested what his opinion was.

Well, thanks to DW, the 'wokery' books can also be funded and published. Of course he writes his own books. He's a writer! If someone else wrote them, they would not be like they are. The word 'bestseller' does the heavy lifting here. He has very tight editorial control, which is why they read like they do. I would have thought that was logically obvious.

OK, but my point is publishers these days (especially children's publishers) act like they would never do an un-woke thing and any kind of non-inclusivity, stereotyping or persecution of minorities is horrifying and must be avoided at all costs. It's the hypocrisy that's annoying. Of course they are doing it for the money but it shows how very shallow these principles are.

And publishers do edit books - so I don't see why no one (apparently) has ever said "This is great David but could you just do a revision and change these stereotyped racist/sexist/classist/body-shaming characters and language." I mean that happens to other wrters.

As for whether he wrote them, I have no idea but ghostwriting of slebs' books is absolutely a thing. You sound like you know a lot about it - are you DW?

I don't know how he got away with "find the sausage" on his stage show.
At best, it's based on hilumiliating young men who are too embarrassed to argue. At worse it is plain sexual assault at times.

There was a story about a mum encouraging her older teen to go up because they thought it would be fun. She said it traumatised him and she will never forgive herself for it.

To be fair, he was a successful comedy writer before writing kids books. He writes his own books, there is absolutely no doubt about that.

It's not gut feeling, it's based on evidence. He presents himself in a way in which his humour solely revolves around mocking others and making them feel uncomfortable. His books are gross, his comedy unfunny and he was caught verbally abusing his colleagues who actually make the whole show on BGT.

There is clear evidence that he's not a good person and is hiding in plain sight.
Maybe someone can find the video of a stage show where he 'pretends' to be a pedophile and then basically sexually assaults teenage boys on stage by talking their trousers down. They end up hopping around covering their genitals so people can't see. It's not a set up and none of them are aware he's going to do it. Horrific.

The way he has the audience laughing at that and not calling him out is really uncomfortable too.

I really dislike him. Anyone who writes in a way that makes fun of vulnerable groups, is not a good person.

His kids’ books are horrible to read, not just because of content but stylistically are very poor. And yet people talk about him as if he is Shakespeare.

He was rather after my childhood but vastly preferred him to Schofield as a presenter. Never heard a bad word about him and a bit bewildered why he hasn't had a "bigger" career. Perhaps his day will come.
