To think I've peaked after spotting three celebs in one day??!

On a work trip to London today. I spotted:

Hugo Taylor (MIC OG) this morning on the street near Liverpool Street station

James Acaster (comedian) coming out of Liverpool Street station at the end of the working day, AND

(Most excitingly for me) Marina Hyde with her husband, running for a train at Paddington Station!

I’m not even a massive celeb-spotter usually, but this was a personal record. AIBU to think this is peak and it’s all downhill from here?

Can anyone beat that? What's your best day of unexpected celeb sightings?

Hopeful bump ✨️

I have no idea who any of those people are, sorry.

I saw Ruby Wax and Amy Winehouse separately in one day once. And once I went to a party with Laurence Llewelyn Bowen, Ewan McGregor and Rolf Harris there.

UpUpUpU · 15/05/2025 20:17

I don’t know who any of them are 😂

Know all these, don’t know any in OP 🤣

I love Marina Hyde OP!

I’m absolutely hopeless at spotting celebs! I’ve walked past Anna Friel and Gordon Brown without noticing them.

Aneurin Barnard (actor known for David Copperfield, The White Queen and Dunkirk) used to live near me though and I was always star struck when I saw him.

BakedBeeeen · 15/05/2025 20:24

I am very impressed by your sightings OP - and agree Marina Hyde would be the most exciting!

nomas · 15/05/2025 20:25

I wouldn’t call them celebs. Barely heard of one of them.

Stygimoloch · 15/05/2025 20:25

I’ve never spotted any celebs but OP I would have been delighted with Marina Hyde and James Acaster. Love them both!

dottymac · 15/05/2025 20:26

Ooh James Acaster is my geeky crush 🥰 I see one of the googlebox stars frequently in my hometown and I have full on scared him to death by being so gushing in my praise, he's just so nice and funny though! I've never seen more than one in a day though, but it is cool when it happens. If you see James Acaster again though, give him a big snog from me 🙃

fruitandvegoverload · 15/05/2025 20:28

Oh I would have loved to see Marina Hyde!

I went on a day trip to London and saw Jackie Mason in Harrods (he said hello to me!), then went over the road to the Tea Clipper pub and saw Jay Kay at the bar.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 15/05/2025 20:29

Impressive celeb spotting.
The most famous people that I ever met was Tyrone and Kirk, characters names, from Coronation Street.

PinkiOcelot · 15/05/2025 20:29

I have no idea who they are.

I once bumped in to Deidre Barlow in a restaurant in Mojacar.

Taylor Acaster and Hyde oh my!

TerrifiedPassenger · 15/05/2025 20:32

We saw the Queen twice in one day. It was about 10 years ago, about 2 miles apart and 3 hours between sightings. Complete coincidence, she had two events across London and we were just in the right places when her escort and motorcade went past.

CapitalAtRisk · 15/05/2025 20:34

Marina Hyde's dad (a Baronet) lives in a village near us. Can confirm that she seems lovely IRL!

GravyBoots · 15/05/2025 20:35

I always look out for famous people on the odd occasion I'm in London. No joy 🤣

My brother was in a pub once watching Kylie play pool. It still features heavily in his mind!

TooBigForMyBoots · 15/05/2025 20:35

That's impressive for one day @Fancyflorist.👏😊

You've inspired me. I think I'll do Celeb Bingo cards for the family WA. We're out in the provinces but I'll make it local and see how we get on.😊

Bikergran · 15/05/2025 20:36

Come to Sheffield when the snooker is on. Ashort walk through city centre usually spots at least 5 world champions of one era or another.

GravyBoots · 15/05/2025 20:37

I did bump into Mark Little / Joe Mangle in Brighton many years ago. Said hello and I got all giggly 😂

arcticpandas · 15/05/2025 20:38

I might see these people every day without knowing it because I have no idea who they are!

LeticiaMorales · 15/05/2025 20:39

I don't know who they are either, sorry. Although Marina Hyde sounds familiar. I used to see Peter Capaldi on the tube , and I once saw both him and Diana Rigg in the same carriage. Not together.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 15/05/2025 20:40

I knoe who James Acaster is, but not the other two. I once had a brief chat with Helena Bonham-Carter at a children's playground.

TheyFuckYouUpYourMamAndDad · 15/05/2025 20:40

I stood behind David and Victoria Beckham in the queue at M&S (Handforth Dean) many years ago, when their first two boys were quite small. I played it cool by grinning like a mad person at the children…probably traumatised them 😆😬

Beamur · 15/05/2025 20:42

I saw Mark Lamarr, Alice Beer and Noel Edmondson in the same restaurant in Soho. Jennifer Saunders might have been in the same place on a different weekend. It was a top sleb spotting venue 😁😁

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 15/05/2025 20:42

I have hardly ever spotted a famous person anywhere! I live in London (and got to centralish places fairly often) so you’d think I would. Maybe I’m just not very observant 😂
