But here's one: I don't believe in heaven or hell.

I mean, GG law is pretty close to Christianity but still not iyswim.

Atheism and the belief that this us our one life and it ends on death (though carries on through our impact, family, love etc)

I don't believe that everyone should worship the same 'god'.
I don't follow any particular religion, but the values of most religions are similar and usually just positive ways to try and live your life.
But I don't believe you go to heaven or hell. I don't believe in the devil, exorcisms, demons etc.

"Thou shalt not commit murder" is claimed as a Christian value, but is clearly a universal human value.

The question is curious because it frames existence entirely around Christianity. As though one's status as Christian or Non-Christian overrides any other status a person may have in their life.

Christian values are just values. Non-Christian values are just values. So your question is really "What values do you live by?"

I live by the values of respect, curiosity, honesty and integrity.

Same. I despise religion. In fact, despise isn’t a strong enough word

@captivate has expressed what I was trying to formulate. I live by values I consider worthwhile and moral (ie considering the needs of others, not just myself). Some - probably most or all - are the same as the values promoted by Christianity, but I don’t live by them because of that. I live by them because I consider them right. I don’t need a religion to point that out and tell me I should follow them.

Are you suggesting that a) the Bible is consistent about values throughout and b) the values it expresses are exclusive to Christianity?

Because they do no harm to others. I think it’s wrong to deliberately hurt other human beings.

I follow "decent human" values for those of us whom are secular.
