Trans protest- sharing for balance

There’s a thread sharing some really awful images from the protest, so I wanted to share some positive ones for the sake of some perspective/ balance.
A lot of people are really understandably incredibly angry and overwhelmed by the events of the last few days. But most people who support trans rights absolutely don’t condone fighting oppression and injustice with misogyny.

Nobody is anti-trans. We are pro women’s rights, dignities and safety. If you want to find true hatred, just turn to those wasting their lives at that rally.

They may not be as violent but the placards are not pro women and in some cases wrong.

@Tandora wow, your "balance" is quite angry at people politely disagreeing with you. I don't have an "anti-trans" bone in my body but that doesn't mean I need to agree with those slogans.

They ARE the predatory men.

Trans people haven't lost any rights, they have the same rights they had in 2010.
Instead they had subverted and obfuscated the intention of the law due to misinformation by the likes of stonewall. Which led them to believe they had rights to womens single sex protection.
They were fighting to take away women's rights to these protections and still maintain those they already had
They are protected under their own category.

In fact transwomens have more rights in law than women as they also protected under hate speech laws, which women are not. Despite the fact mysogyny and violence towards women is so prevalent.

They are protesting against women's sex based rights.

And to aid you on the risks and policy making decisions please use the UK rate of sex offenders in prison

Where’s this balance you speak of? It’s the same old shite… imagine I toddled over to Reddit and posted ‘biological sex is real’ for balance - I imagine I’d get banned for hatred. But people on MN always need to be scolded.

Because you responded with a post saying "you don’t get to reinvent your anti-trans ideology as misogyny." I find that quite an angry response. Of course, it's hard to tell via the written word, but suggesting that I'm "anti-trans" on the basis of a polite comment disagreeing with you seems somewhat disproportionate.

Just to add, a lot of the behaviours he talks about were very much on display during the protests yesterday. Clear as day when you look through the clinical psychiatric lens.

These differences have been explained on any number of threads. I posted a long considered post about this yesterday and only one person cared to respond. You aren’t interested in hearing or understanding. There’s nothing that anyone can explain to someone who takes that attitude.

The Supreme Court's role was limited to interpreting the Equality Act, which was passed by the last Labour government. According to the Equality Act, female people, who exist in reality, also exist in law.

Can you explain exactly what you think is "oppressive" about a group of women going to the Supreme Court to have their right to exist in law upheld? Other than the fact that they had to go to the Supreme Court at all?

You haven’t answered my question about smear tests, so I assume you’re also not willing to discuss any other erosions of women’s rights.

Trans women should have been fighting for third spaces, not claiming their rights override those of biological women.

Not sure what you even expected to achieve with this thread to be honest.

The world isn’t perfect and we can’t all have things exactly as we want them. You have to balance the needs and rights of different groups. Not erase one group - women - because another group wants to claim they are the same when they are not.
