Sending love to trans people on MN and beyond

This isn't an AIBU. I just wanted to send love to trans people, in the UK especially, and to other members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

This hasn't been the easiest week for trans people, but there are a lot of us out there who accept you for who you are. We have your backs and we believe that eventually, tolerance and compassion will win.💖💖💖

Love from a longtime MNer and trans-inclusive feminist.

Wishing all trans people well as long as they don’t undermine the rights and safety of women.

AgnesX · 17/04/2025 21:02

Trans inclusive feminist? Sounds like a contradiction in terms but then what do I know, I'm just a woman.

EmpressaurusKitty · 17/04/2025 21:02

The Ls are fine thanks. The verdict explicitly supported our right to be single sex.

Unpleasant.

SolielMoonSky · 17/04/2025 21:03

Why are you saying it on AIBU on mn?

CamillaCanterbaum · 17/04/2025 21:04

I've never understood how anyone can describe themselves as ANY kind of feminist and think it's OK for trans people to encroach in our spaces or rights?? Makes no sense.

Trans people hope your all OK, start campaigning for your 3rd spaces because trans women are NOT women

DancefloorAcrobatics · 17/04/2025 21:05

I am happy to accept anyone for whom they are, but I also expect the same in return.

A feminist who thinks men can be women?
Fairly pointless, no?

FlowerFairy12 · 17/04/2025 21:07

Yay to no more men in women’s toilets!! Two X chromosomes makes you a woman, anything else makes you an imposter.

I don’t support men putting a dress on and pretending they’re a woman. Men need to stop perving at women in their changing rooms.

I have a butch lesbian friend, born female, who has been accused of being a man in toilets. Your gleefulness about toilets is only going to backfire on women who do not fit into your stereotype of what a woman should look like. Not exactly going to create a safe space for women when GCs start policing toilets demanding to see proof of being female.

NineteenSeventyNine · 17/04/2025 21:08

Trans people remain protected from discrimination by law.

WhoAreYouTalkingTo · 17/04/2025 21:08

Personally I'm sending love to all the women who have had to right so hard for our biological rights.

That takes nothing away from Trans people, who already had rights and still do.

Soontobe60 · 17/04/2025 21:09

Are you always so gullible OP? Do you accept Adam / Isla Bryson for who he is? Do you think he should be in a women's prison because he says hes a woman?

I imagine most people would clock her as female, no problem.
Are you seriously claiming she regularly gets mistaken for a man?

Oh dear…

I 100% support mens' right to wear as many dresses as they want. I genuinely couldn't care less.

And, I 100% support mens' exclusion from womens' only spaces & sports.

So, I consider myself totally fair and impartial.

MereNoelle · 17/04/2025 21:12

I am glad that trans people retain their right, protected in law, to not be discriminated against.
I’m also glad that common sense has prevailed and that it is recognised in law that people cannot change their biological sex.

TwistedWonder · 17/04/2025 21:12

100% - this ruling is about WOMEN, proper adult female human beings and protected ton of our hard fought rights.

Nk one has lost any rights today. Trans people are protected in law from discrimination and absolutely rightly so.

They are absolutely free to live their lives how they choose but they are not women in the eyes of the law or in biology.

It’s absolutely correct that single sex spaces for women are just that single SEX. There is no valid argument I’ve ever heard for this not to be the case.

DearBee · 17/04/2025 21:13

I also accept trans people for what they are. They are people who believe they have a different gender to their biological sex. Which is totally fine, but I don't want to share my female only spaces with anyone who is male. Nor should I be expected to - they are designed for women's safety and I'm afraid that's more important to me than the hurt feelings of men who believe they are women.

Felinnefine · 17/04/2025 21:13

Be kind - accept that women shouldn’t have penises in their safe spaces, changing rooms, toilets, sports, prisons, hospital wards, breast feeding classes etc etc etc.

I appreciate your message OP, so thank you for trying to do a nice thing.

I don’t want penises in women’s toilets, but I don’t want people to feel bad either. It’s not real trans people that are the problem.

Are you seriously suggesting, that no Woman has ever been mistaken for a Man? It happens.

Yes, this has happened more than once. I mean, you can think I’m exaggerating but I’m not. But gee I’m so glad a court has summed women up as walking vaginas. Definitely worth it.
