Trans people

Firstly, I'm a trans ally

Everyone is up in arms about trans women. What seems to be forgotten these people are human beings. Where is humanity. You have probably been sharing toilets and coming into contact with trans women every day and have no idea. You only hear about the few bad ones. In a public toilet, you go into a cubical and pee. Its not like you're sat there in full public view with your knickers at your ankles.

What has been forgotten also, as many females are changing to. So trans men. So you're in hospital in a ward. The woman in the next bed, identifys as George, clit is now a penis fully working and you're in the next bed! Same person can wander around female only spaces as the law has changed. George can now only be searched by a female. By the way George a transgender man is a pervert! All hypothetical but nobody has brought this up.

Just a thought.

The clitoris is used in the making of the penis.

It's not a penis. It's a lump of mostly forearm flesh which resembles a sausage roll more than anything else.

ODFOx · 17/04/2025 17:13

I know it seems like a huge step back in trans rights (especially if you buy in to the general internet hysteria), but in law all that has happened is that it has been clarified that in the equalities act, the protected characteristic of sex relates to the potential disadvantage of being born female and the protected characteristic of gender reassignment relates to the potential disadvantage of being born trans. The equalities act doesn’t state who uses what loo or who gets to go where: in fact it aims to give everyone equality in all things except where they need special provision because of their protected characteristic; which need must be proven.
No one is about to prevent transwomen going to the loo or out in public or any of the other nonsense being screamed from chat rooms. What will happenis that in some cases, where need can be proven, some facilities may become natal women only: for example the patient loos on some hospital wards that all visitors used to be able to use, or in some religious or refuge situations. Need must be proven and provision made for anyone excluded by the selective nature.
99% of the time it won’t make a difference, and 1% of the time it should make addition provision available. (Whether natal women specific or trans- specific).
I feel as if I’ve spent half the day reassuring people (including my own adult trans son). Perhaps as an ally you could do the same.

Mistyglade · 17/04/2025 17:13

I couldn’t care less how other people choose to live their lives as long as there not hurting others. The problem with trans people is some of them do hurt some women. We don’t know who’s trustworthy and who isn’t. The tra brigade are full of hate and misogyny towards women which shows us who were dealing with. Plus, piss on and around loo seats from a male body is fucking disgusting.

murasaki · 17/04/2025 17:14

This is just a ram raid to post allegedly transphobic posts on X....

ArtTheClown · 17/04/2025 17:14

Lol at your anecdote about "George". No a clit can't become a "fully working penis".

I'm not quite sure why women are so scared of trans women.
They've been around for longer than people realise without much fanfair.
I don't know of anyone assaulted by a trans person. I'm not saying that doesn't happen but it's not something you see in comparison to how many women are killed by men.

Why do you believe one subset of males - those with a 'woman' gender identity, are less of a risk to women than any other males?

SidewaysOtter · 17/04/2025 17:14

The OP suggests we’ve all shared toilets with trans women without knowing it — that may be true, but the point is, when a person is biologically male and legally allowed to access women’s spaces, it undermines the purpose of those protections. Everyone has the right to live as they choose, but not when it compromises others’ rights to safety and privacy.

It also completely undermines the right to consent. I consent to be alone behind closed doors with and undress in front of other women. I do not consent to do the same in front of men. For a man to pretend to be a woman and access that space takes away my right to consent who I’m undressed/vulnerable with.

Breadcat24 · 17/04/2025 17:14

no I usually know when I am sharing a space with someone with a beard

The clitoris is used in the making of the penis.

It isn’t really a penis though and a lot of men I think would agree with that, it might look a bit like one but it is not, in the same way a trans woman might look a bit like a woman but they are not and never could be, different chromosomes, hormones etc etc

Especially when the stats show otherwise.

LlynTegid · 17/04/2025 17:16

You can be supportive of those who have transgendered or wish to, and recognise where women's safety should be respected and supported.

MushMonster · 17/04/2025 17:16

Gender is gender.
Sex is sex.
That is all that the ruling got.
Sex segregation is now possible again. Nothing that did not happen before will happen now. Bar the intrusion in women sports and the dancing around the words mother and breastfeeding.
I never had issues sharing toilet with a transwoman. Neither I do now. But the word mother. Nope, that will never ever be taken away from me. Neither the right to fair competition. No transgender blokes in female only prisons... and so on.

That would be incredibly hard if your penis was ‘made’.

Sarahconnor1 · 17/04/2025 17:17

Mog65 · 17/04/2025 16:53

The clitoris is used in the making of the penis.

The neo phallus is usually made from skin and flesh taken from the arm or leg.

SidewaysOtter · 17/04/2025 17:17

I'm not quite sure why women are so scared of trans women.

Because they’re men, and women are hard-wired to know what a man is, especially when it comes to the risk of sexual assault and violence. We don’t know who the bad individual men are, so all men have to stay out of women’s spaces to guarantee (as far as possible) our safety.

When it comes to the conflict between the hurt feelings of transwomen/men and the safety of women, the path of least harm needs to be taken and women’s safety trumps hurt feelings.

murasaki · 17/04/2025 17:17

It's no more a penis than a fleshlight is a vagina. It is a separate entity.

But transwomen ARE men. We read about transwomen inserting themselves into designated women's spaces too often for the risk to be ignored.
Do you really want to make even more women prey to these trans identifying men who sexually offend at the same rate as regular molesters and rapists?

FrippEnos · 17/04/2025 17:18

One of the reasons that I feel sorry for trans people is that they are being sold the lie of a "fully functioning" opposite sex body and then find out that its not what is being done to them.

KarmaKameelion · 17/04/2025 17:18

One thing I think of is that there are people who lost their jobs, livelihoods, got cancelled, because they feel that a woman is an adult human female.

i don’t really care about whose toilet someone wees in but i care about people being allowed to have an opinion that is not the same as theirs.

Crackanut · 17/04/2025 17:18

'George' is a woman, wouldn't bother me.

user1471538275 · 17/04/2025 17:18

Women are scared of men, all men, however they 'identify' because some of them have been proven to hurt women, especially when they hear the word no.

Clit as penis, fully working? Could you please explain?
