Trans people

Firstly, I'm a trans ally

Everyone is up in arms about trans women. What seems to be forgotten these people are human beings. Where is humanity. You have probably been sharing toilets and coming into contact with trans women every day and have no idea. You only hear about the few bad ones. In a public toilet, you go into a cubical and pee. Its not like you're sat there in full public view with your knickers at your ankles.

What has been forgotten also, as many females are changing to. So trans men. So you're in hospital in a ward. The woman in the next bed, identifys as George, clit is now a penis fully working and you're in the next bed! Same person can wander around female only spaces as the law has changed. George can now only be searched by a female. By the way George a transgender man is a pervert! All hypothetical but nobody has brought this up.

Just a thought.

Thanks for posting this photo. I think a good reminder of how a seemingly average, ordinary item of clothing aka A Pair of Pink Leggings, played such a huge part in changing the course of history. I do hope they get a special mention in the history lessons of future generations.

The power of that picture was quite something

And I seem to remember that some publications (including the Guardian) opted to crop it so that the bulge couldnt be seen. Charlatans.

No. A man who cannot urinate through his penis has a serious medical problem, not a clitoris.

Ahhh right. Thats the only way for your framework to work isn’t it?

We have type A people.
(mutually exclusive) type B people

(The categories are fixed and cannot be changed)

Annndddd then we have…… people with “serious problems”. (People who are “serious problems” perhaps….?)

Quite how you infer that I am "slandering all mumsnetters" from that post is a mystery to me.

a clitoris is not an undeveloped penis

Right, it isn’t. The clitoris and the penis are both structures made of the same tissue that develops along two broadly different pathways according to a complex interaction of gene activity and hormonal balances. As such, these organs are not binary, fixed or mutually exclusive entities . Just as genes and hormone balances are variable, so are the structures themselves, and there are ambiguities as to the point at which this structure can be called a penis and that one can be called a clitoris. Both structures can be altered by endogenous developmental differences and external medical interventions.

@KarmaKameelion
I have even helped men to go into female toilets to use the baby change

That is sexist provision from design to build stage that discriminates against men and babie of both sex

Webberley on X yesterday:

'Message to the little ladies out there nervously clutching their handbags, fumbling for their pearl necklaces, waiting for the Supreme Court to decide whether their precious space might be invaded: By those terrifying creatures with.… a PENIS. Here's an idea: Get a life.'
And:
'This Dad [a man who objected to adult men in changing rooms] is sending a clear message to his nine year old daughter that men are to be feared. No they are not, stop giving young girls this message.'

Those who would harm and endanger children and are cavalier about women's protections are ALWAYS on the same side.

That's just unbelievable. She's basically saying that men should be able to get their dicks out in front of 9 year old girls. (Not to mention of course the insults to anyone who disagrees - "little ladies" indeed Hmm.)

And it still doesn’t make a malformed penis a clitoris or vice versa.

Yes, the grifter panic from certain quarters has been a sight to behold.

I think you have taken bits of information and put them together to construct a fantasy..

A doctor who told a man with urinary problems that he just had a clitoris would be struck off or sent to prison for malpractice.

So are you saying that if I wanted to , could afford it , and could find a crazy enough surgeon to agree to mutilating my body I could get my urethra diverted from my urethral opening to my clitoris so I could pee through it! Gosh. What a breakthrough for medical science that would be. Not sure how my urine would exit from my body because unlike a penis a clitoris doesn’t have a handy exit hole, but that would be something for my crazy, probably struck off all medical registers , surgeon to figure out .

Actually, I think I will stay how I am, my clitoris works fine, my urethra does what it is supposed to and I am not sure it would bring me any practical advantages , like being able to pee standing up behind a tree without soaking my trousers with urine.

Might be more difficult to connect the whole thing to the testicles that you don’t have - could you use somebody else’s?

Well the police didn't see a problem with convicted murderer 'Sarah Jane' Baker standing on a platform in public and exhorting a crowd to 'punch a terf in the face' so they're really not going to rouse themselves for posts on the internet.

Unless the posts are made by women of course, then they'll be round to check your thinking/ object to you being untoward about paedophiles. Or like this woman, https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/4886878-woman-visited-by-west-midlands-police-for-taking-a-photo-of-a-sticker for taking a photo of a sticker. Y'know the really hateful stuff.

Ah sadly that link doesn’t work.

im also thinking about that woman who went to prison for a tweet - completely ridiculous. These males online pose much more of a threat! It’s disgusting!

Transwomen are men. It is odd that in a long lifetime of visiting ladies' toilets I have never been assaulted by a woman there; the one time I was assaulted it was by a man.

In fact every one of the several times I have been assaulted in my life it has been by a man, never a woman. First time it happened I was 11. I have now an inbuilt wariness of men as a result and distrust them by default. I would go so far as to say that my nervous system is permanently affected and if any man gets too close where I feel vulnerable then I am triggered.

Sorry if any men are 'hurt' by that but if so it is their problem to deal with not mine. I don't care if you think that makes me a horrible person; I am beyond 'be kind'. I am just trying to exist too, and it would be much easier for me to do so if it weren't for so many men trying to encroach on my space and threaten my safety.

And it is hard for one of the 2 women per week killed by men to 'get a fucking life'.

But these men were not trans, so what has that got to do with this conversation. I'm not talking about men. I'm talking about trans women

Or can you explain what makes them not-men? Because they adopt sexist stereotypes?

And playing devil’s advocate - the fact you think transwomen are all harmless, is it just wilful ignorance?

TheKeatingFive · 18/04/2025 12:08

@Teddlesisagoodboy how is a woman supposed to know, if she encounters a man in the toilets, if that man 'identifies as a woman' or not?

You have not been able to provide the points of difference that mean that those male people with a transgender identity are not male, the key point of being 'men'.

And you have ignored the evidence that has been posted.

You can keep on with your line of posting, but I don't think anyone is going to just take your word for it at this stage.

Well a whole human being develops from a small cluster of undifferentiated cells. By your logic, a brain is the same thing as say, a kidney.

Stop being silly.

TheLadyMaud · 18/04/2025 12:14

@Teddlesisagoodboy the only difference between a man and a transwoman is that a transwoman says he's not a man. That's the only difference.

DucklingSwimmingInstructress · 18/04/2025 12:15

Shegotanology · 17/04/2025 17:07

I'm not quite sure why women are so scared of trans women.
They've been around for longer than people realise without much fanfair.
I don't know of anyone assaulted by a trans person. I'm not saying that doesn't happen but it's not something you see in comparison to how many women are killed by men.

MOJ stats show 76 of the 129 male-born prisoners identifying as transgender (not counting any with GRCs) have at least 1 conviction of sexual offence. This includes 36 convictions for rape and 10 for attempted rape. These are clearly male type crimes (rape is defined as penetration with a penis).

MtF transitioners were over 6 times more likely to be convicted of an offence than female comparators and 18 times more likely to be convicted of a violent offence. The group had no statistically significant differences from other natal males, for convictions in general or for violent offending.

Comparisons of official MOJ statistics from March / April 2019 (most recent
official count of transgender prisoners):
76 sex offenders out of 129 transwomen = 58.9%
125 sex offenders out of 3812 women in prison = 3.3%
13234 sex offenders out of 78781 men in prison =
16.8%

59% of transwomen in prison were for sexual offences, compared to 'only' 17% of men in prison.

There you go pet, that might give you a clue.
