To report my son as missing?

Wondering when to start panicking? DS 22, hasn't been home since Friday day time. He usually lets me know what's going on. It's not unusual for him to spend time at a friends for a day or two, however I've messaged his closest friends, no one's seen him since Friday. His phone been dead since Saturday morning. I know he's not a child, but he's my son and I'm concerned about his wellbeing. Should I report him as a missing person? Or am I overreacting? I just don't know what to do.

I would report because more than enough time has passed for him to make his own way home after a hectic weekend. The fact he hasn’t been to work is concerning

Don't beat yourself up for leaving it til now. When I was 19 and lived at home it was extremely normal for me to not go home for 3 or 4 days and I wouldn't always check in during this time at all. This was late 00s - my phone was definitely with me at all times so wasn't unusual to have messaged - I just generally didn't! I had a car, a job and a boyfriend. My family wouldn't have thought twice.

That said now you know he hasn't been at work definitely report.

Ring round his friends again to get together a timeline for the police when they come out to speak to you as well. They'll want to know his last known movements.

Also what he was wearing when last in contact.

It's so easy to assume they're fine, and I really hope he is. Definitely report.
