Every day waking up to yet another insane declaration from Trump. America is losing the respect of the world

It's like a parallel universe - how did America come to this? So now he plans to ethnically cleanse Gaza we are told - to create the 'Riviera of the Middle East.' A golf course and hotels probably. The £2 million people can just go wherever. Wtf! AIBU to think America is imploding in on itself?

It's Trump's bizarre Manifest Destiny.
He keeps declaring Canada would be better off as a US state. Greenland. Panama. Now talking about Gaza.
The US could have stopped him. The Republicans successfully mounted a campaign to paint Biden as incompetent, and in mental decline fgs. It is believed within the Democrat's' party. Meanwhile, megalomaniac Trump, also old, was built up as a saviour for the American people. I think being on the outside it's easier to see the dystopia created there.

StepawayfromtheLindors · 05/02/2025 17:12

I’m sick to the back teeth of our media giving so much time and space to this deluded demented megalomaniac. Has the world ever seen a more frighteningly ignorant “leader”? His sole aim seems to be to shit stir and meddle in every other country’s business. Someone needs to tell him to STFU immediately.

100A · 05/02/2025 17:34

The amount of media time given to his incoherent ramblings is insane. How did America come to this?

The government you elect is the government you deserve. Thomas Jefferson

Adelstrop · 05/02/2025 17:37

I’m waiting for him to suggest that the population of England should be relocated to the Australian outback so that he can turn It into a giant golf course.

Ponderingwindow · 05/02/2025 17:39

I’m American and I spend a lot of time depressed these days. Last night I just started laughing. Picturing a Trump casino on the Gaza Strip is just ludicrous. I know it’s offensive and awful, but I also don’t believe for a moment that it is going to happen.

im pretty sure he did just lose every last slim thread of credibility he had in the world stage. I have no idea what that means for our country our the planet.

Exactly. The fuckwits voted for him knowing what he was like.

Dearg · 05/02/2025 17:41

Even he doesn’t believe this shit. He just likes us all to be frothing at him.

I am not saying he’s harmless; I think he is capable of triggering great harm in this world, but he does not follow through with a lot of his verbal diarrhea

HeddaGarbled · 05/02/2025 17:42

We knew he was going to be like this. He knows most of it won’t happen. It’s to wind up the liberals and rev up his supporters. The best thing we could all do is pay him no attention. I know it’s difficult when it’s all over the media but you don’t have to read the detail. Catch a headline, roll your eyes, get on with your life. You’ll feel better for it.

Overtheatlantic · 05/02/2025 17:43

In his press briefing with Netanyahu even Netanyahu himself was looking bemused. He’s a live narcissist, the real thing, and he’s terrifying.

Nanny0gg · 05/02/2025 17:44

Have you read how Elon Musk has moved some of his (young) employees into Govt offices?

He's getting into their systems and replacing their code.

There is no knowing what he's accessing and what he's going to change

That's even more terrifying

'Be quiet, dear'. No.

In Trump's head, the rest of the world is just a giant playgroup for rich Americans

😆Tbh I think we might be next on the hit list, feels like he is softening us up for something

Bewareofthisonetoo · 05/02/2025 17:47

He was elected by Americans to serve America. Really doesn’t matter what any of us overseas think -he is not our leader.

Locutus2000 · 05/02/2025 17:48

Every thread there's a bunch of early posts castigating the OP for daring to have a concern.

Same people who complain about being silenced.

Loveumagenta · 05/02/2025 17:48

He’s fucking bananas and I don’t see how any of this is going to Make ordinary Americans any richer which is presumably why they voted for him. Though he is chucking people out of the country pretty sharpish which is pleasing a lot of MAGAs.

That's probably why Trump is spouting more and more of this crazy stuff every day - to divert attention from what Musk is up to.

Oh god, if only that was true. If only his destabilising rhe Middle East and everywhere else wasn’t going to make the world much more dangerous place to live.
Can’t he find a shitty part of the states to turn into a new ‘riviera’? How about Kentucky, they could do with some $$$

Heatherbell1978 · 05/02/2025 17:50

This is exactly what I expected from Trump. I'm surprised people are surprised to be honest. The guy is unhinged.

Fair play to him, I didn’t see the riviera plan coming, even Greenland was a bit of a surprise…

The rest - the tariffs, cutting aid, firing anyone to do with the old government, blaming DEI for anything he doesn’t like- totally expected.
