It's like a parallel universe - how did America come to this? So now he plans to ethnically cleanse Gaza we are told - to create the 'Riviera of the Middle East.' A golf course and hotels probably. The £2 million people can just go wherever. Wtf! AIBU to think America is imploding in on itself?

This is incorrect. There are plenty of Palestinians in Israel. They are a large part of the Arab population in Israel which numbers 20ish% of the Israeli population.

I think he has got carried away with his ideas. It is meddling and whilst the British division had good intentions, we are in a different era now. Let the Israelis handle it themselves, I don’t hold out much hope of peace now. Americans have plenty of coastline to invest in. How does this benefit them? American taxpayers won’t want to invest in this piece of land. So he wants businesses to invest? The Palestinians would benefit from a cash injection and jobs, but they would resent it too, This riviera of the Middle East would get bombed to high heaven by terrorists /freedom fighters anyway

The awful story from Congo today where 400 women prisoners were raped and burnt alive elicited such comments from Daily Mail readers as "And Labour will let these people here" and saying that foreign aid has enabled these regimes and should be cut off. Probably 90% of the comments I read were one or the other.
