First we get that alarm, now Tesco is closed tomorrow. It's the end, isn't it?

Why on earth is Tesco closed?

Mademetoxic · 23/01/2025 22:02

Eh? What are you on about?

TeaAndChaos · 23/01/2025 22:02

All phone services are down.

The apocalypse is amongst us.

notprincehamlet · 23/01/2025 22:02

None of us is getting out of this alive

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/01/2025 22:03

In time, yes of course. Death and taxes my friend. The only certain things in life.

SabbatWheel · 23/01/2025 22:03

Presumably because they are considering their staff who may have to travel to work in the storm and have decided to keep them safe?

Bergamo · 23/01/2025 22:03

What alarm?

Oh yeah, the weather!

Echobelly · 23/01/2025 22:04

Yup, Tesco being shut is a sure sign you're gonna die. Sorry.

Pinkissmart · 23/01/2025 22:04

Is this because of the storm? No, you won’t die, but you may want to make sure you have extra supplies, bottled water, and maybe dig out a camping cooler if you have one.

Fetburzswefg · 23/01/2025 22:04

It’s going to be quite windy. It is not the apocalypse.

Pussycat22 · 23/01/2025 22:04

Yep at some point.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 23/01/2025 22:05

Is this about the "Weatherbomb"?

FOJN · 23/01/2025 22:06

Yes we're all going to die.

yipyipyop · 23/01/2025 22:07

Yes death is inevitable

notprincehamlet · 23/01/2025 22:08

I googled Tesco and now I know that papaya is the fastest growing (in popularity) fruit in the UK. I don't think that's why they're closed though.

Scotland and NI got a weather warning alarm on their phones I believe

Ah. I didn't put 2 and 2 together there! I haven't had the alert, although I'm in Wales. Are other supermarkets following suit?

Myspinebrokefromcarryingus · 23/01/2025 22:08

Think it was only us people in northern Ireland that got the alarm???

IAmADescendantOfSweepTheSqueakyLegend · 23/01/2025 22:09

The massive honking alarm on your phone that scared the shit out of most people. Me, anyway.

Yeah, why not

PeriPeriMam · 23/01/2025 22:10

Tesco is closed? That's awful. It's all adding up. KFC was temporarily closed for refurbishment today. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Stormwhatnow · 23/01/2025 22:10

This alert. I'm expected at work Confused

Are we all going to die?
