DD was off the week before school due to the flu so missed out on her Christmas bag. She was given it on Friday she took everything out the bag on Friday and it was in here. I’m guessing it’s just a mistake! Would you say anything or just leave it.

Is it a sticker? I gave a lot of stickers this Christmas but before giving them I went through each set.

i took out Christian bible quotes from a set of motivational gym stickers I was giving to my Muslim friend, I took out middle finger up stickers from a skateboarding set for my nephew, and I actually took out loads of books + teapots from a set of book stickers for my 8 year old niece.

I think what happened is the teacher had a set of Xmas stickers and didn’t think to go through them before giving each kid one.

fanaticalfairy · 13/01/2025 07:52

I'd just laugh it off. Give the teacher a break, they would have been running on autopilot and utterly exhausted.

Yes it’s a sticker 😩 that was my thoughts! I can tell it’s a genuine mistake and I feel bad but it’s terrible.

Give the teacher a heads up because other parents might flip their shit. Tell her you’re not complaining but she should know!

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 13/01/2025 07:54

Should’ve gone to Specsavers!

They already would have "flipped their shit".

Yes, Santa loves a big bowl of rice krispies, darling. We can remember that for next year. And then save that sticker for when she realises what sort of bowl Santa is hoping to find under your tree!

What's a Christmas bag? Do teachers give children gifts?

With regards the sticker absolutely let her know, she probably didn't realise and would want to address it with the parents. She may have picked up a bunch of random stickers so possibly your child is the only one that got this one

BeyondMyWits · 13/01/2025 08:00

In an envelope with a note "don't think you meant to give us this one 🙂", give back to teacher.

That way, you've let them know there was something unsuitable, to check stuff they give out, without making it a big deal. They'll be mortified, they'll double check in future.

I think you can work out from context here what a Christmas bag is....

They will often give little generic gifts, yes, like a small tube of bubbles or stickers or a keyring, and sometimes they're in a bag!

My kids teachers give them a small gift at Christmas - just one of the many things they do in their own time, with their own money to care for and value the kids they teach.

@Luckymum94 I’d let her know but use humour, she’ll have done it with her eyes closed at a busy time of year.

🙄

I assumed it was gifts in a bag but it was posted as if this is something very common I have never heard of it hence the question to double check

Someone's been on Temu 😂

I bought a pack of cartoon animal character stickers from Temu. Most of them are normal stickers of that character, but there is also one in there with him dressed as a Breaking Bad character, making crystal meth. There's another inappropriate one that involves a large machete. I just removed them.

This is what I would do too.

wineandagoodbook · 13/01/2025 08:05

How old is your child? Are we talking primary, secondary or college?

DUsername · 13/01/2025 08:09

That's hilarious 😂

I'd go with the envelope idea too. I hope you're the only one that got that sticker or she's going to be in a heap of trouble!!

BishyBarnyBee · 13/01/2025 08:10

Am I being dense? What does pack Santa a bowl even mean?

TheStigarette · 13/01/2025 08:10

Oh for goodness sake don't make a big thing out of it. Chances are it's just a genuine mistake . Just laugh it off with the teacher and make the age appropriate excuse with your kid.

LambriniBobInIsleworthISeesYa · 13/01/2025 08:11

Meh. It's not hardcore super sex is it. And the teacher hasn't actually included a joint in the goodie bag. It's clearly a mistake; I wouldn't say anything because it would be really embarrassing for the teacher and because no harm has been done.

Blondiebeachbabe · 13/01/2025 08:11

This is absolutely hilarious!

There's no way it was done on purpose - like PP have said, she will have bought a big bag of stickers.

I'd actually keep it for a laugh, to show my kids when they were older. I know that my adult kids would find this extremely funny. I wouldn't say anything to teacher.

Honestly, lighten up, don't people have a sense of humour anymore?

He appears to be holding a bong. It's a reference to packing the bowl of the bong with weed.

Firenzeflower · 13/01/2025 08:12

It looks like some Temu crap.
A teacher once gave my DD a card with a picture of and angel on the front and the words The Angle Gabriel.
