DD was off the week before school due to the flu so missed out on her Christmas bag. She was given it on Friday she took everything out the bag on Friday and it was in here. I’m guessing it’s just a mistake! Would you say anything or just leave it.

Do you not receive cards from any Americans at this time of year?

"Merry Christmas.... pack a bowl"

"Seasons greetings... get baked"

"Happy New Year... fuck yer ma"

Er, no. And I live in America. It is only “normal” depending on the types of people you’re friends with. Stoners will be stoners regardless of their nationality.

Shortpoet · 13/01/2025 13:38

Pity the kid who got Santa’s tweaking arse from that set

I completely agree with the Temu comments, this looks exactly like something that would be mixed in!

Last year, we bought my son’s teacher a personalised cup from a local seller on ebay. There was a small QR code on the side of the design that we did not check. When my son gave it to his teacher, they decided to scan it and it took them onto a webpage that was selling ladies underwear 😂🙈

I was mortified, and now his teachers will only be gifted something generic 😂

notacooldad · 13/01/2025 13:57

If your daughter brought this into school the teacher would create merry hell and question your parenting
Bullshit.

gidsquame · 13/01/2025 14:11

Oh god that’s both horrendous and hilarious - I’m cringing for the teacher! I would have seen the funny side (I think…) and discretely returned it. But I can picture quite a few of my DCs’ friends’ parents being very offended and there being an absolute shitstorm over this.

Yes, Santa loves a big bowl of rice krispies, darling. We can remember that for next year. And then save that sticker for when she realises what sort of bowl Santa is hoping to find under your tree!

I'm so naive - I had to google what "pack a bowl" means! 😂

In an envelope with a note "don't think you meant to give us this one 🙂", give back to teacher.

That way, you've let them know there was something unsuitable, to check stuff they give out, without making it a big deal. They'll be mortified, they'll double check in future.

Yeah, do this. Give the teacher a break. It was probably just an honest mistake. (it is pretty funny, to be fair).

I didn't know what a "Christmas bag" was either. I assumed it was some American thing. Is this in the UK.

What do teachers do about Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh etc kids?

(I't's a serious question. I'm the least politically correct person you could ever meet but I'd have thought the parents of some kids could legitimately find it offensive)

I also didn't know what "Pack a bowl" meant

As a Jewish person I love a bit of Xmas tat! We do a family Christmas dinner with crackers,, but that's as far as we go at home - but all gifts, bags etc. are appreciated. Really observant Jews would send their children to Jewish schools to avoid this sort of thing.

As for the OP's quandry, I wouldn't say anything to get the teacher in trouble, but if I had a friendly relationship with the teacher I may say something in a jokey way. At primary school age DCs had no idea about weed so this would've gone straight over their heads.

Call me old fashioned and every other name you can think of, but I'm horrified that teachers are shopping on Temu to buy garbage (sounds like a lot of plastic rubbish) to go into landfill. While also complaining that they're not paid enough and teaching about impending climate disaster. Where's the joined-up thinking? Change starts with the adults in a child's life.

You could be talking about three different teachers there, they are not one homogeneous lump of opinion.

No one actually gets offended by Christmas stuff, outside the pages of the daily mail.

A lot of muslims round my way take their kids to see Santa in his grotto etc.

WhatDaHell · 13/01/2025 14:55

Oh no 🙈

Give it back quietly in an envelope, obviously just a huge mistake!

As horrifying (and inappropriate) as it is, this is something I would laugh about in years to come.

When you look more closely it's an imprecation to offer Santa a bowl of cannabis and a hookah rather than milk and cookies.

What is the world coming to 🥺

Stirabout · 13/01/2025 13:05

Gold digger might have been the least of your concerns
Assume lip balms etc didn’t have pork gelatin 😳 🤞

I’d double checked ingredients (also they don’t sell anything in shops there with pork gelatin/non-halal meat products, unless it’s in the dedicated ‘non-Muslim’ room at the back of some supermarkets. Anything with alcohol is sold in specific shops. It’s quite hard to buy something accidentally).

The ingredients were all on the back of the multipack but the shade names were in tiny writing on the side of each individual product.

corvidconvo · 13/01/2025 15:47

I think it would be good to let the teacher know to be more cautious of the contents of these cheap sticker packs. If she's any sense (and it's clear that you know it was an honest mistake) she'll appreciate the information.

RealHousewivesOfTaunton · 13/01/2025 15:55

That's hilarious. How old is your child?

Let the teacher know but please laugh!

MegaClutterSlut · 13/01/2025 16:13

I would find this funny 😄 but I'd also let the teacher know

it now makes sense, always wondered how he could eat a million mince pies in one night.

Haha nowt like the midnight munchies

Reallyneedsaholiday · 15/01/2025 22:55

I’d tell the teacher, but would absolutely find it hilarious 😂 and let them know it.

What's a Christmas bag? Do teachers give children gifts?

With regards the sticker absolutely let her know, she probably didn't realise and would want to address it with the parents. She may have picked up a bunch of random stickers so possibly your child is the only one that got this one

I’m a reception teacher and our Christmas bags are what we put everything in to go home for Christmas - art work, cards they’ve made, presents they’ve made, cards the other children bring in and yes - a small gift from myself and my TA

CorduroySituation · 19/01/2025 17:07

Just wondering if OP ever said anything to the teacher? Grin
