DD was off the week before school due to the flu so missed out on her Christmas bag. She was given it on Friday she took everything out the bag on Friday and it was in here. I’m guessing it’s just a mistake! Would you say anything or just leave it.

Leave it. For sure.

Explain the joke to your dd - it is quite funny - tell her that the language used is adult/ bit rude and leave it at that.

I believe that screw, in this country, is a lot ruder than it is in the US.

Raindropskeepfallinonmyhead · 13/01/2025 08:51

Had to google bowl slang - pretty sure it would have gone over your dd's head but am sure teacher would have been mortified

Gumbo · 13/01/2025 08:54

That's really funny, and definitely an oversight from the teacher!

It reminds me of when DH was looking after a neighbour's DC and took her as well as ours to a local market, where he kindly bought them each a little pin-on badge thing. The child from next door accidentally left it at our house and I spotted it... The picture on the front had what looked like Mr Bump all wrapped up in bandages...but when I looked closer it wasn't that, and the caption underneath was Miss Bondage!! We had to go and confess the issue to the neighbour (who found it funny).

If your daughter brought this into school the teacher would create merry hell and question your parenting

Teacher does it, quiet word and trust them completely. Bizzare

That's really unfair. I'm a teacher, if I saw a child with a sticker like that I would assume the same as most posters here that it was a multipack sticker that got misplaced. Would it alert me, yes only to be aware in case anything else stood out. Would I raise hell. No, not unless the child actually came in reeking of drugs , has drugs or behaviour suggests it ect...you can't win as an educator sometimes

Op back to the question, as a teacher myself I'd be happy to know I made the error in case I made the mistake again. As others have said just make light of it. I would be mortified but it's all in the approach really. If a parent is understanding, it goes a long way. I definitely don't think it was done on purpose as it wouldn't be long before people started contacting the school.

SunnyHappyPeople · 13/01/2025 09:01

I'd find this hilarious!

I wouldn't mention it.

Kidsroomquestion · 13/01/2025 09:01

Definitely part of an AliExpress/Temu bulk sticker pack, I think it’s sweet the teacher makes these for their pupils so I’d be inclined to just laugh it off, probably wasn’t even looking as the bags were packed. I had a similar thing this year when making advent bags for my stepdaughter who loves South Park, and there was a really explicit bit of Tweek x Craig gay fanart in there on a sticker. Fished that one out before it was given to her! 🫣

I think you can work out from context here what a Christmas bag is....

They will often give little generic gifts, yes, like a small tube of bubbles or stickers or a keyring, and sometimes they're in a bag!

From the context, it's a baggie, right?

No they wouldn't...

Bellyblueboy · 13/01/2025 09:06

I would quietly say to the teacher - I assume it was a mistake but not one that should be repeated next year😂

Alondra · 13/01/2025 09:07

I'd have laughed my head off. Just leave it.

Blades2 · 13/01/2025 09:11

I’m sorry but that’s hilarious.

dutysuite · 13/01/2025 09:13

I really wouldn’t be making a big deal out of it, I probably wouldn’t have noticed - perhaps just give her the heads up with humour so she can check the stickers next time…if there is one, but in all honesty I’d leave it.

ClairDeLaLune · 13/01/2025 09:22

The teacher was probably so fraught by that time that she needed to pack herself a bowl! (Whatever that is!) I’d let her know, but just in a lighthearted way.

Growlybear83 · 13/01/2025 09:23

Why would you do anything about it? I assume the teacher didn't mean to include that particular sticker, and it's a funny mistake.

SpanielLarusso · 13/01/2025 09:25

LambriniBobInIsleworthISeesYa · 13/01/2025 08:11

Meh. It's not hardcore super sex is it. And the teacher hasn't actually included a joint in the goodie bag. It's clearly a mistake; I wouldn't say anything because it would be really embarrassing for the teacher and because no harm has been done.

Nice Partridge reference! 😄

Maddy70 · 13/01/2025 09:26

Teacher tried to do a nice thing. Buys things from her own money. Makes up aXmas bag...gets criticised.

It's an American sticker, it's s normal term there. Ease up

pinkroses79 · 13/01/2025 09:29

I might mention it but only in a joking way. I'm sure it wasn't intentional.

FancyNewt · 13/01/2025 09:33

I'd mention it in a 'don't worry ' type of way just so they know to check next time. It's obviously a mistake and a funny one at that.

valentinka31 · 13/01/2025 09:33

Pack Santa a bowl of what?

In an envelope with a note "don't think you meant to give us this one 🙂", give back to teacher.

That way, you've let them know there was something unsuitable, to check stuff they give out, without making it a big deal. They'll be mortified, they'll double check in future.

As an ex teacher I would massively have appreciated this.

Yes she should have checked but teachers are human too!

I got a big bunch of monster truck stickers for party bags from temu. They had a couple of questionable slogans on that I picked up by accident. I checked the rest but it’s such an easy thing to miss accidentally.

How is 'pack Santa a bowl' a normal American term 🤣

brokenwand · 13/01/2025 09:39

I would definitely tell the teacher but make a joke of it & clear that it has gone no further. Just so she is aware for the future in case she makes the mistake again with a parent that would create a problem

BishyBarnyBee · 13/01/2025 08:13

Thanks so much. Feeling a bit like my mother in law who is permanently slightly bemused at modern life😁

Edited

People have been smoking weed from all sorts of receptacles for centuries. It's hardly modern 😂

NoWayRose · 13/01/2025 09:43

I would have found that hilarious. It’s obviously an accident from a Temu set she probably bought with her own money.

Presumably (hopefully!) this would have gone over child’s head like a joke at a panto.

Do not contact them in po-faced outrage - poor teachers

Do you not receive cards from any Americans at this time of year?

"Merry Christmas.... pack a bowl"

"Seasons greetings... get baked"

"Happy New Year... fuck yer ma"
