DD was off the week before school due to the flu so missed out on her Christmas bag. She was given it on Friday she took everything out the bag on Friday and it was in here. I’m guessing it’s just a mistake! Would you say anything or just leave it.

Am I being dense? What does pack Santa a bowl even mean?

me too I don't understand what that even means.

Yes it’s a sticker 😩 that was my thoughts! I can tell it’s a genuine mistake and I feel bad but it’s terrible.

Like you say - it's a genuine mistake. The teacher will have gone on Amazon or Temu or something and ordered a pack of 50 Christmas-themed stickers for £2.99 and this is just an iffy one that they didn't notice. A teacher has enough to do at Christmas; they will have been exhausted and rushing. I'd just laugh and ignore it.

It looks like some Temu crap.
A teacher once gave my DD a card with a picture of and angel on the front and the words The Angle Gabriel.

That reminds me of the time I nearly sent out a programme for the Christmas carol concert with an embarrassing typo. Gabriel's Message had somehow become Gabriel's Massage. 😳☺️

Legodaisy · 13/01/2025 10:25

Classic Temu.

I ordered little squishy animals from Temu for primary school party bags. All individually wrapped. Thank god I decided to check each one when filling the party bags, as of them was a squishy cartoon penis.

dentydown · 13/01/2025 10:25

She’s probably bought a 100 stickers for about £3, and there are a few rogue ones in there.

i bought some stickers from TikTok shop, they were basic skull/gothic ones, because my little girl is into Wednesday at the moment. I had a quick look to make sure they were not too scarey and found about 20 that had drug references. (Mainly smoking). One was a bit sexy. I removed ones that were not really suitable.

i bet the teacher wasn’t anticipating adult themed Christmas stickers.

hand it back and and give her the heads up.

VexedofVirginiaWater · 13/01/2025 10:27

Not as bad as this, but I remember when we were encouraged to have a Christmas dinner with our tutor group (Year 7). I thought I'd treat them to some Christmas crackers (from Tesco - suitable for children) so we had a jolly time, but I hadn't realised that some of the novelties were mini water pistols which were put to use in lessons that afternoon. My name was mud I can tell you.

Hankunamatata · 13/01/2025 10:29

Yikes. I'd give the teacher the heads up. Just incase it happens again. Or has more stickers.

TheThreeCheesesOfTheApocalypse44 · 13/01/2025 10:35

That is hilarious 😂

spirit20 · 13/01/2025 10:37

I'm always the first on here to say stop complaining about random things to teachers when it was clearly an innocent error, but in this case I would let her know, just in case she has a whole bunch of those stickers left over to hand out next year. You can always phrase it that you just want her to know in case she gets future complaints.

tilypu · 13/01/2025 09:58

The picture of a smoking bong doesn't give you a clue?

And the cannabis leaves surrounding Santa 😂

Rewis · 13/01/2025 10:39

That's hilarious 🤣

Whatafustercluck · 13/01/2025 10:48

That is so funny, poor teacher though!

I've packed a bowl or two in my time, but I'd be letting the teacher know. It's clearly a mistake and while some may laugh it off, there are others who won't so it's a mistake that shouldn't be repeated - for teacher's sake!

Is it a sticker? I gave a lot of stickers this Christmas but before giving them I went through each set.

i took out Christian bible quotes from a set of motivational gym stickers I was giving to my Muslim friend, I took out middle finger up stickers from a skateboarding set for my nephew, and I actually took out loads of books + teapots from a set of book stickers for my 8 year old niece.

I think what happened is the teacher had a set of Xmas stickers and didn’t think to go through them before giving each kid one.

What's wrong with stickers of books and teapots? Confused I get the other stuff, but not the teapots.

Give the teacher a heads up because other parents might flip their shit. Tell her you’re not complaining but she should know!

This.
Honestly for some parents that would be hugely offensive and that teacher could find they have a problem.

ThejoyofNC · 13/01/2025 10:52

I would show the teacher privately in person but I wouldn't email or anything that would cause her unnecessary trouble.

mykettle · 13/01/2025 10:53

The teacher really doesn't need to know they have done this. Clearly a mistake, let it go

Glitchymn1 · 13/01/2025 10:55

😆
I’d let the teacher know (with humour) in case there are more/they get the same kind of stickers for Easter!

Aquamarinescarf · 13/01/2025 10:56

Call me old fashioned and every other name you can think of, but I'm horrified that teachers are shopping on Temu to buy garbage (sounds like a lot of plastic rubbish) to go into landfill. While also complaining that they're not paid enough and teaching about impending climate disaster. Where's the joined-up thinking? Change starts with the adults in a child's life.

Jellycatspyjamas · 13/01/2025 10:58

I think horrified is a bit strong for teachers doing something festive for the kids they teach. Yes there are better places to buy but places like Temu are easily accessible and cheap.

I would just bin it. Teachers have so much to do.

Mary28 · 13/01/2025 11:08

I'd be telling the teacher about it to be honest. I'd not be making a big deal as obviously a mistake but wtf, I mean it would be totally inappropriate even if your child was an older teen.

KnickerFolder · 13/01/2025 11:08

MangoesAndPeaches · 13/01/2025 10:39

And the cannabis leaves surrounding Santa 😂

Quite. I think the fact that the thread has got to 5 pages of people saying they don’t understand what a bowl is yet no one else seems to have noticed the cannabis leaves surrounding Santa, illustrates nicely how it was an easy mistake for the teacher to make…

Really? With Los Angeles in flames, mega-storms hitting the UK, hundreds of thousands of boat people fleeing sub-Saharan Africa — and I'm 'odd' for suggesting that teachers who import cheap plastic tat from China to give to children who'll dump it in landfill are teaching their students that 'stuff' is more important than burning up the planet?
