To think that if a man has had bottom surgery they should be put in a woman’s prison?

Genuinely interested in this and not trying to goad just want to understand.

When people talk of the threat of a man in women’s spaces, I assume the danger is because of their penis.

So if that’s gone then should they be categorised as a woman?

I’m kind of of the opinion that if you’re willing to put that much effort in (as in penis removal) regardless of your chromosomes, I’m happy for you to be called a woman…is this wrong?

I don't disagree with you, but many will.

Snorlaxo · 11/12/2024 12:27

What about the physical strength that comes with male puberty?

Yeah, right.

Wannabeblueysmum · 11/12/2024 12:28

Ask anyone who has been in a DV relationship and they will tell you it wasn't the penis that hit and strangled them, it was the person so no I don't think they should

Snorlaxo · 11/12/2024 12:29

Having a penis doesn’t protect from rape in a male prison so it’s not acceptable to use surgery as a get out clause to going to a prison based on biological sex. Having bottom surgery doesn’t make you a woman.

HermioneWeasley · 11/12/2024 12:29

Women are not men without a penis. We are not small men, men with low testosterone, castrated men, effeminate men.

trans identified males who have had genital surgery have specific medical needs that have nothing in common with women. They can be catered for in a trans wing of a male prison.

MagpiePi · 11/12/2024 12:29

Lack of a penis doesn't turn a man into a woman, so, no, no men whatever there body modifications should be in a women's prison.

RosieLeaf · 11/12/2024 12:29

No, their entire body composition is different and stronger. And they are never women.

boobleblingo · 11/12/2024 12:29

Men can assault women with other body parts than their penis. They will still be much stronger, and statistically, more likely to be violent. A man that removes his penis is a man without a penis, not a woman.

Yabu, it should be sex segregated regardless of cosmetic operations

HermioneWeasley · 11/12/2024 12:30

Also, being a woman is not a prize that’s given for “effort”. You’re either an adult human female or you’re not. It’s not some exclusive club we’re gatekeeping access to.

JazzyJelly · 11/12/2024 12:30

You are indeed being unreasonable. Is the bar so low? 'Not able to rape'?

His choice to change his body is not women's problem!

ByMerryKoala · 11/12/2024 12:30

No. Men, however they are mutilated, should be in prison with other men.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 11/12/2024 12:31

No. Losing a penis doesn't make you a woman. In the same way having a hysterectomy doesn't make you a man.

Baublingalong · 11/12/2024 12:31

Not all men carry out rape or sexual assault with their penis. Rape is about power and even without a penis or erection a man will find other implements to overpower and assault his victim. Even a fully castrated male is far stronger than any woman. So no. They don't belong in female prisons.

Chroomy · 11/12/2024 12:32

TW GRAPHIC

You do know that men can sexually assault women without using their penis? They can digitally penetrative or perform forced oral sex on a woman.

Assault isn't just PIV.

And these men don't lose all sexual feelings because they've had this operation.

They remain physically stronger and thwy are STILL MEN. MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY

Do you really not know that chopping off a penis does not make you a woman?

username299 · 11/12/2024 12:32

You can be sexually assaulted with an object and physically harmed by a man. Men are a lot stronger than women and vulnerable women are not safe with a man in prison.

takealettermsjones · 11/12/2024 12:32

You've asked two different questions. I would be happy to call that person a woman if that's what they would prefer, because it makes no odds to me and I like to be polite to people. But I think prisons should be separated by sex so no, I don't think they should be in a women's prison.

ditalini · 11/12/2024 12:32

Should an impotent man go to a women's jail? He can't use his penis.
Should a gay man go to a women's jail? He's not interested in raping women.
Should "my Nigel" go to a women's jail? He's lovely, honest.

Experiments in the US that used chemical castration to treat/punish sex offenders showed that they continued to abuse but used implements rather than their penis in any case.

Are you suggesting that a transwoman should need to have invasive and irreversible surgery in order to be a "real woman"?

But all of the above is irrelevant since prisons are segregated by sex, not gender identity.

Of course it's wrong. How can it make him a woman?

MsPavlichenko · 11/12/2024 12:34

No. Only women belong in the women’s estate. Bottom surgery doesn’t make men become women.

There may be an argument for a third space for vulnerable Trans identified males.

You know what they say about people who assume?

Penis or no penis, the problem is that they are men.

The end.

Nerdlings · 11/12/2024 12:34

Does he become a woman after having his penis removed?
