Being so jealous of this family

I don’t know where it comes from but it bothers me. They go to a state school with my son and are constantly going on lavish holidays, they have a 2 million house (righmove check confirmed), they always appear impeccable and without fault. I don’t understand and it bugs me.

So they have more money than you. Is this the first time you've encountered rich people?

I used to envy a friend and her wonderful family. Until she was diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, while I am still in rude health.

Whilst a few years ago a two million pound house was stinking rich territory, it wouldn't raise an eyebrow in lots of areas in and around London now

Maybe they've been lucky on the property ladder. Maybe they've inherited. Or won the lottery. None of your business. And surely it's better that privileged families don't automatically pull kids from the state system.

Focus on what's important to you or you'll just churn yourself up with envy. It's really not healthy.

On what basis do you think that? Do you think they should have a smaller house than they can afford and go on holidays that aren’t as good as they can afford to appease you?

Oh right, yes I'm sure it's having a terrible impact on your life, having people who dress nicely and are well groomed around.

You haven't answered why you think that they want to better than others! What have they said or done to make you think this.

My son was invited to their house as they have a pool and then felt embarrassed to invite their kid back as we live in a terraced 3 bed.
