Is this a reasonable response to the Darlington Nurses issue? (males in female changing spaces)

Wes Streeting requested the Darlington Nurses drafter the guidance.

Is a third space the only practical solution to all this? Will that ever be accepted?

A third space would be the most sensible and reasonable approach.

MrBungle · 03/12/2024 14:26

Maybe the title is misleading as well, it should say

"Males not permitted to use Female showers"

itsmylife7 · 03/12/2024 14:29

Of course males shouldn't be allowed to use female showers .

NordicwithTeen · 03/12/2024 14:30

Everything will have to be able to have a 3rd option - sports, loos, showers, changing rooms. How much do we want to bet the space is taken from female areas of the above?

Wellingtonspie · 03/12/2024 14:30

Female. Male. Mixed. Problem solved. Anyone who doesn’t want to use mixed goes in the one their dna aligns with.

GetMyCloak · 03/12/2024 14:31

Changing room use by sex or a third space entirely are the only workable solutions.

I include TM in this, they are often left out of this and it’s assumed that men will be fine to share their spaces with them, but that’s not fair on them either.

Seekingstyle · 03/12/2024 14:32

Third space is the only way and call it what it is - mixed sex, not gender neutral

SinnerBoy · 03/12/2024 14:32

Third spaces have been suggested many times, but the TW response is rage and aggression. They're not interested, they want to be in women's facilities and brook no debate on it.

Doliveira · 03/12/2024 14:34

Or use the facilities designed for the DNA you have.

I'd be interested to see how this would play out. Will all the handmaids women who insist there's no issue with men being in women's toilets, changing rooms etc choose to use the mixed facilities? I suspect not.

They get off on women being uncomfortable because it's subversive. And they get of on "passing" and being treated as a woman, even if the women are just rolling their eyes and letting it go because they don't want to get into a fight.

Swifthater · 03/12/2024 14:43

I totally agree. Woman's toilets are for women. Not men in dresses who think their women. People need their privacy when doing their stuff. No someone of ambiguous sensuality hanging round. I rapist recently came out of prison saying he'd become a woman. Say he turned up in a ladies and his former urges got the better of him. I have nothing against trans people but a line has to be drawn in the sand somewhere. Transsexuals should have their own toilets or remain in the.mens.

BodyKeepingScore · 03/12/2024 14:46

Llttledrummergirl · 03/12/2024 14:05

Trans women don't want a third space though. They want the validation of other people perceiving them as female and the right to use female only spaces. It's part of the whole package to them. Which is why third spaces will never work.

Women need to keep saying loudly and clearly that we will not accept men in our spaces. Surely someone will have to start listening to us?

And the answer to that is going to ultimately 'tough fucking shit'.

No one in their right mind thinks males in female changing rooms works out well regardless of how they identify.

Wellingtonspie · 03/12/2024 14:58

yes It needs to be law or legislation that biology sex matter in private spaces.

Exemptions for young or disabled children with their parents

KimberleyClark · 03/12/2024 15:00

What about transwomen without penises - should they be allowed to use female showers?

theyre still biologically male so no

What about transwomen without penises - should they be allowed to use female showers?

No. Because they're still men even if they've mutilated themselves. As such, they've no right to be in women's single sex spaces.

No, they should use the facilities that match their DNA or the mixed ones.

No, because it doesn't magically change him into a woman. He is just a man without a penis. The same way a dog without a tail is still a dog

No men allowed with or without a penis.

KimberleyClark · 03/12/2024 15:11

It’s always seemed to me that the view on here is that people with penises should not use female changing rooms and I fully concur with that. Has the view changed?

I would be interested to know what proportion of the crimes committed by males identifying as women have been committed by fully transitioned transwomen.

Edited

I think it’s people who have or had a penis.

Biological men are still stronger and more aggressive than most women.
