I bloody wish I could unsee it! We were having a Chinese and it’s a bloody good job I’m a vegetarian and therefore wasn’t having chicken balls, is all I can say.

Didn’t have enough eggs for cake today, but have a shopping delivery coming tomorrow.

I tried the yoga, but even the beginners was a bit too hard for my reduced mobility - chronic illness, broken ankle that didn’t heal well and turning 60 haven’t done much for my mobility. Hubby was there in case I couldn’t get back off the floor and the bloody cat kept attacking me, so not a total success. Do you know what though, I tried it and I’m taking that as a win. I’ll look for something more suited for a decrepit, old woman.

Laura, I’m so pleased that your eldest agreed to meet. I know he didn’t in the end, but that’s normal teenage behaviour. It’s a massive improvement from before when he was calling not nice names. Slowly, slowly, catchee, monkey as the saying goes. xxx

Chicken balls 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wonder if he’s managed to get them off yet? Bet they used a lot of talcum powder for those!
I’m really craving a slice of Victoria sponge now .
Glad you managed to do some yoga and it’s definitely a win for today, you should be proud of yourself. I’m proud of you ❤️
How have I never heard that saying before? I love it 😂. Eldest has texted me saying he feels bad for not seeing me now and that he really misses me so that was nice to know , I just told him not to worry about it and to rest up and I’ll see him soon when he’s free xx

@Ruralretreating you could have written my SEN story but I know they are much the same for us all. As you say the school will support a parent trying to do their best. They see how the system breaks us. @Imbluedalale glad you are feeling more positive. Every minute longer to see the children is en extra minute towards building a safe, happy home. Everyone wants that. Not just children.

@Apolloneuro well done for having a go at the yoga. Cushions and towels rolled up make great props to support you. Takes a lot pressure off. I got my yoga wheel and bolster out and did a few deep stretches. About 15 mins but better than zero.

Hi @nornironlady , how’s the rest of your day been? Do you feel better for having an early morning walk/run. The pictures look beautiful and scenic.
I’m saddened to hear that you SEN parents have it so tough with schools but your children are so lucky to have you battling on their behalf xx

Here you go

1 squash de seeded and chopped ( I roast it for about 30 mins but you don't have to) if chopping is difficult just buy it ready chopped
1 onion chopped
300ml veg stock
1 big clove garlic
Tbs mild curry powder
1/4 tsp cinamon
Salt and Pepper
Any other spices you fancy or maybe some chilli flakes
Tin of coconut milk

Soften the onion and squash for a while in a pan, add spices, stir to coat, add everything else and let it simmer for 30 mins then blitz with a stick blender...can't go wrong really x

Thank you so much @Munchyseeds2 , I’ve screen shotted it and I’m definitely going to try and make it . It sounds delicious xx

Hello Laura

I've read your previous 2 threads in the last 24 hours and am in awe of your tenacity and bravery. I don't have a lot to add but I want to reassure you about the school issue.

In most areas of England, if police attend incidents of DV where there are school-age children present in the house, the school is informed as a matter of course. I don't know whether or not the police attended when you were kicked out, but if they did, your DS's school will know already. The email that was suggested by another lovely poster was perfect - factual and clear - and if your school's safeguarding lead is anything like my wonderful colleague in that position, they may well be in touch tomorrow.

Best wishes for a smooth move tomorrow and lots of your MN army will be wishing you the same.

Well I’m bloody proud of you Laura. Three weeks ago that darling big boy of yours was calling you a nasty word. You stayed calm and remembered that you’re the mum and he’s going through it all as well. Now he’s telling you he’s missing you 🥰

I'm worried you’re hungry though. Shall I get a Deliveroo to your hotel for you? Pm me.

PeggyMitchellsCameo · 17/11/2024 18:17

Well said @Ruralretreating great advice!

Meanwhile33 · 17/11/2024 18:31

Evening everyone! Laura you’re doing so amazingly well, your inner strength and wisdom are shining so bright. That’s lovely news about your eldest, and well done for replying so calmly.

I’m also getting hungry reading about everyone’s nice food! I had a fish pie in the freezer so we’re having that later, but I’m now wishing I’d gone to the effort of roasting something. Need to get a food order sorted.

Good luck for tomorrow Laura, I’ll be with you in spirit! xx

Hi @Malbecfan , thank you so much for reading my threads and for your post to me.
I still can’t believe that people want to read my threads and posts let alone be offering love and support. It’s amazing . Thank you 🙏
When ex hurt me I never reported it to the police at the time for a lot of reasons . Main one being the children as I didn’t want them being upset that he would get into trouble, another that I was ashamed and scared and I didn’t want to admit it out aloud because then it would become real. However the police are aware , when my ex broke my ribs it was obviously documented on my health records and it states on there they was concerned re DV. The police received an anonymous tip off about the DV I’m still unsure who did that maybe my mental health team? An officer rang me , she was lovely and she explained what they know and that they are worried for my safety and that they could put me in a refuge straight away but this was during my cancer treatment and so I declined and I didn’t want to go into a refuge so the police sent me an email asking me to sign that I wanted to take no further action at that time and she said her sergeant was happy with that and that if I needed any further support they would be there straight away. I’m not sure if the police contacted the school as I know they contacted social services at the time.
I hope your colleague is ok?
Thank you for wishing me well xx

I’m hoping that me and eldest can now have a better relationship now I’m away from ex, I’m going to really try anyway.

Evening @Meanwhile33 , thank you so much. Your support means everything it really does. I absolutely adore you all!
Ohhhh another thing I fancy , fish like sounds yummy . I can’t wait to make all these meals over the next few weeks . I can batch cook too whilst it’s just me for the time being.
I normally hate food shopping but I’m looking forward to doing my first food shop for the house. My daughter said she’s gutted she can’t do it with me as she loves food shopping .
Thank you for the good luck and thank you for being there in spirit I’m going to carry you all through that front door with me to start my new life xx

For @Imbluedalale and the gang….

We’re settling in for one last night with our fave of the Rooneys,
But in this MN jungle we found our own Queen,
She’s the bravest knicker-knocker we have ever seen,
This time next year we can have a mass Zoom and all tune into The Goonies,
Here’s to a year of our Extra new home, with a suite dedicated to the Spoonies!

nornironlady · 17/11/2024 19:24

@PeggyMitchellsCameo love the Goonies 😂

AdmittowearingCrocs · 17/11/2024 19:44

Evening Laura and all the Spoonies 😀 Sorry you have a sore throat Laura, hope it eases quickly. Well that is a complete turnaround by your son considering the nasty names he was calling you. I’m so pleased he says he misses you. Don’t worry about the ex’s money influencing your children, they will quickly recognise that money is no replacement for a kind loving mum who cares about them..
When you walk through your new front door tomorrow, will all be walking through it with you in spirit, cheering you on.
I will be watching I’m a Celebrity tonight too and will be thinking of you, almost like group watch lol.
Hope you manage to sleep tonight ready for an exciting day tomorrow 🥄🌼🌸
