Thank you. RaspberryBeretxx
I did have a lovely afternoon, listening to all the little ones singing. Then playing, what a lovely nursery. It’s so nice that they do it.

Ah, that's so lovely 💕💕. It must be so special to watch your DGC interact with little friends.

nornironlady · 03/12/2024 18:34

@RaspberryBeretxx hello there! I don't know how you survive a weekend with little to no Internet. I admire you 😂
We got our 100 letters out just about.....I had to palm a few off on a fellow workmate at 12 so we could go!
It was team Christmas lunch but one member lost a parent 2 wks back and another last week. One other is having treatment on a breast lump so while it was nice to get out and do something, those others were very much on our mind. It's been brutal in my work section recently for what colleagues are going through.
On a happier note it was a really lovely afternoon and our boss very kindly paid for our lunch. He's a good spud 😂
I had a few dark'n stormy cocktails and left pretty sensible!
That was a great chance meeting with sons Gf mum. Definitely the sort of thing I would do. How old is your son?

Well done with the letters. Glad you had a nice lunch and cocktails 🍸😆. That’s lovely of your boss. So sorry that your team are going through so much, that does sound brutal.

my son is 12 so it’s really just a friendship rather than anything too full on. He had dinner at their house a week ago so it was good to thank the mum and she said he was a lovely boy so that was really nice. All new territory for me navigating the onset of a teen 🤪.

I’m fine, busy day tomorrow I’m looking after my little grandson. He goes to nursery on an afternoon and they have a stay and play! So granny is going to play, I’m really looking forward to seeing him at nursery with his little friends.

The curry kits The Spice Taylor, can be bought in most of the big supermarkets, it’s the sauce and spices, so easy to use. Their are loads of different flavours!

Yes, you are right you can meet someone, a stranger, who has an enormous impact and they make such an impression you will remember them. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does it’s so special.

Enjoy your night with your daughter, it’s just lovely she’s there with you. 😘🌺

Hi @Nottogetapenny , how did your day go with your grandson at nursery? Awww that is so cute 🥰
I’m definitely going to get one of those curry kits they sound delish. I’ve just had some leftover curry and rice for my tea as hadn’t eaten all day due to having the worst migraine I’ve ever had but I feel ok now .
Im still thinking of that lovely couple today, they sure have made a stamp on my heart.
Had a lovely 2 days with my daughter just knowing she was in the room across the hall gave me so much peace, just need my boys to come and stay now xx

Oh my word @Imbluedalale , your encounter with that lovely man in the hospital!! And he and his wife will be telling people about the lovely lady they met in hospital too. You are both AWESOME!

@PeggyMitchellsCameo - OW!! I hope you are feeling in less pain now. It sounds agonising!

Today's perfume is Watermelon. Weirdly they list three main components, none of which are watermelon (and none of which I can remember and I am certainly too lazy to get off the sofa to check!) but the combined effect is watermelon. Sadly the other effect appears to be that it makes me sneeze and snuffle, so I currently smell like a rather nice tropical salad, but sound like a truffle-hunting hog. Can't imagine why the major perfume houses haven't snapped me up for their adverts!

Good evening @ChoccieCornflake , how’s your day been?
Awww that’s so lovely , thank you. He made me laugh though because he said one of his biggest bugbears is people saying to him ‘but you look so well’ and then he said I look well 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣that is hilarious about the tropical salad I haven't tried that one. If I were you I’d be getting @Apolloneuro to send an email to shay and blue demanding they snap you up.
My daughter said for me ti smell this perfume she bought from Zara she said it’s smells like me and it really does smell like shay and blue black tulip but I’m sticking with shay and blue they have my heart now xx

Good morning to all the Spoonies!
@Imbluedalale loved hearing your news yesterday. What stood out for me was you saying all those lovely things about that man, his qualities etc. These are the very same things we see in you Laura. Your warmth and positivity always shine through in your posts.
I'm in office now and there's about a hundred letters that need to be issued. As in put into envelopes....old style! That should take me to noon nicely then it's out with the team for lunch.

Hi @nornironlady , I’ve been thinking about you today and I hope your Christmas lunch was lovely and you had a great time (and several cocktails). Can’t wait to hear what you decided to have to eat.
Awww that’s so so lovely thank you so much, that’s made me feel all warm inside ❤️
I hope you got the 100+ letters sorted, that reminded me of when I started working at lump poly (tui) and they asked me to sort the post so I was sat there for hours licking stamps to put on hundreds of envelopes and my tongue was getting really dry and after I finished they all laughed and said they were self stick stamps 😂xx

Oof that's not good news, be careful that it's not caused by an infection in the bone from your tooth. My husband had to have a tooth removed and the little infection decided to go rampant. He needed to go back to the dentist for antibiotics.

I really hope you start to get better soon. I can imagine the sort of reception "that bloke" got. As my mum would say, he's lucky he didn't find that tree somewhere where the sun doesn't shine 😂😂

What an amazing thing to have happen. I've always said that it just takes one special person to make a massive difference when you are going through difficult times.

I definitely sympathise with you having to have blood taken from your hand. I've got the most difficult to find tiny veins and now always have my blood taken from my hand with a paediatric butterfly needles. They might be small but it's not a pleasant experience. I definitely envy my husband who's got veins like a road map. You'd be able to take blood from him with your eyes shut.

Evening @BeNavyCrab , how’s your day been?Good I hope
I was telling the couple all about you lovely spoonies and he said how lovely it was that I have found you all and I told him how special you all was to me. Because you all are so very special ❤️
Awww it’s awful having tiny veins isn’t it , I’m the same every time I have to have a blood test I tell them ‘just to let you know I’ve got really tiny hard to find veins’ and they always say to me that they have never struggled getting blood before or that they are experts in getting blood and every time after 3/4 attempts they say ‘Ohhh you do have very small veins don’t you’ 😣. Whilst I was having treatment they was going to put a picc line in but as they stopped it I didn’t need to have it in the end xx

Evening Laura and all Spoonies, hope your migraine is better Laura. I know how bad they can be, my poor dad used to be so unwell when he had one.
It must have been so lovely having your daughter stay with you after so long. I missed each of my children so much when they moved out and it took ages to get used to them not being there in their bedrooms.
Hopefully your son will be able to be with you soon. 🌸

Imbluedalale · 03/12/2024 22:57

RaspberryBeretxx · 03/12/2024 14:48

Awww, that man at the hospital sounds so so lovely @Imbluedalale , that made me cry! He sounds so positive and I'm so glad you have random support and kindness popping up all over the place - people can see what a special person you are just like we all can 💕.

That made me laugh about the TV saying your name. Glad the sofa is so lovely! It made me laugh about all the cushions.

Glad the appointment went well and that sounds positive about the MDT meeting and sorting next steps. Sending all the most positive vibes your way.

Eek and ouch! At having blood taken from your hand. Hope the bruise isn't too bad. Once when pregnant, the midwife took blood and nicked my tendon (that was what the next one thought had happened anyway). The bruise spread all round my arm and elbow and was soooo painful!

Oh and DP stands for "dear partner" - I was at his house over the weekend as he was working some of the time and my DS was with his Dad. DP doesn't have wifi and the signal is rubbish so it's a bit like going back in time 😂. My parents did pop in after I got home yesterday afternoon which was lovely. And I met my DS's new girlfriends Mum as I was unpacking the car, she was walking past with her dog and asked if I was DS's mum. She seemed lovely and we swapped numbers. Back to work today and I had 2 lovely cappuccinos and a nice chat in a nice pub with my boss. I'm now meant to be working from home 🙈.

@PeggyMitchellsCameo how's the ear and tooth feeling today? Hope it's improving, it sounds a horrible combination! Did that man you live with survive the rest of yesterday after asking about the Christmas tree?! Someone asked that on our village FB page on 1st Dec and got a proper roasting from people (in a funny rather than mean way).

@nornironlady Did you get your letters done and how was your lunch? Was it a Christmas celebration lunch or just random?

@spoonfulofmustard 😂😂at you scaling your fence to get in to your flat! At least it was the neighbour who saw you and nobody thought you were breaking and entering 😂.

@Nottogetapenny ooh, thank you for the spice kit recommendation - they sound lovely. Hope you're having a lovely day with your grandson and at his nursery, that's so sweet that they have a stay and play. I wish my DD's nursery did that.

@BeNavyCrab Hope you're OK today. Your decorated diary for your mum is such a lovely idea, I'd love to see a pic when you're done.

Good evening @RaspberryBeretxx , how’s your day been?
He was a wonderful man the nicest man I have ever had the privilege to meet. And I really hope he gets better.
I read this quote today that said ‘ironically the people you meet by accident are often the ones who become an important part of your life’ and that’s so true because I met all of you like that. When I put my first thread up I didn’t even think I’d get one reply and now 3 months later I have all of you on here as friends and you all hold such a special place in my heart. I truly feel blessed to have met you all.
My daughter loves all the cushions she has loads on her bed. I said to her why don’t have all those cushions on when you have to move them to get into bed and she said ‘pain equals gain’ 😂
I made her some breakfast this morning whilst she was getting ready and she asked me to lay with her for ten mins last night ❤️
Ouch that bruise you had does sound painful 😥
Awww that sounds so lovely about meeting DS’s girlfriends mum, my son is similar age and he has a friend who’s a girl she’s his girlfriend but he doesn’t like to call it that 😂

@Imbluedalale how are your children currently coping with everything they have been through?

Hi @Crazycatlady79 , how are you?
My children were very upset when I had to leave and it’s been very hard for them. My youngest told me about a month ago that he just wants everything to go back to normal , but it wasn’t normal although he doesn’t know that. The worst thing out of all of this is seeing the impact it has had on them. I haven't seen my youngest since 8th October it’s the longest I’ve ever been without him but he’s still in Liverpool and I’m hoping to see him when he gets back but I don’t know what ex has in store next so if I can’t see him I’ll have to speak to a solicitor because I know he wants to see me. My daughter has struggled with it all she’s also broke up with her boyfriend of 4.5 years and I worry about her everyday but I’m trying to be there for her and getting her to talk and giving her lots of cuddles. My eldest wasn’t very nice to me in the weeks leading up to me leaving but we are trying to build our relationship back up and become closer and he’s asked a few times to see me which has been nice . I think it’s hard for children when parents separate but they can see that their father is happy and that I’m becoming happy so I hope that in time they will get used to our new ‘new’ xx

Evening @AdmittowearingCrocs , how are you this evening?
My migraine has left the building now thankfully. I’ve had to spend majority of the day laying in a dark room with an ice pack on my head. I don’t get them often but when I do they are bad.
It really was lovely having my daughter here, I miss her already. She loves having a bath and she loves the sofa and she was in her element last night with the tv . You can add separate profiles on the tv and then that person can go into their profile and add things they want to watch and add apps so it’s all there for next time. She does watch some weird stuff though. She likes to watch this thing called dad vs girls and she’s really into riverdale.
I really hope I get to see my son soon he’s meant to be coming back from Liverpool next week xx

Good morning Spoonies. I'm taking my time getting to this morning. I think we are due rain and wind later so WFH is alright on days like that.
@Imbluedalale glad you are over the migraine. I wouldn't wish them on anyone. I keep Sumitriptan tablets for emergencies but I'm not sure they do any good. A dark room is usually the answer.
I've fingers and toes crossed your son is back with you soon. I know I would feel like part of me is missing 😕
I've woken up starving after a few drinks yesterday. I aways do so I think I might need to go and get eggs on!
Have a great day Spoonies xx

Good morning @nornironlady and all spoonies.
I hope you enjoyed your eggs for breakfast. I’m just having some shredded wheat and a cup of tea then going to have a good clean and tidy up as didn’t do any yesterday. My mum and dad coming over today for a few hours and my niece who lives in Santa Cruz is coming over for a week on Thursday with her husband and children so I’ll see them one day too. Have you got any plans for rest of week?xx

@Imbluedalale I'm ready for something else now but you've motivated me to do something so the bathroom is now clean! I'm going to do the windows upstairs as they didn't get done when I did downstairs for the decorations going up. Bit by bit it slowly gets done.
I'm sure your niece can't wait to get over the miserable UK weather 😂
I've got a hair appointment tonight and I really wish it wasn't.....but I will be glad when it's done. I usually go on a Friday morning but I can't afford to be taking the morning off work at this point in the year and I have my son at home now too so evening it is. I'd rather be at home in my dressing gown by 6pm 😁

lol 😂 I’m not motivated at all but my mum and dad coming over this afternoon so I have no choice. What I really want to do is get in a hot bath with some Epsom salts in and relax.
Well my niece has had bad flooding where she is I don’t think her Spanish husband likes the uk weather though 😂
I know some people enjoy getting there hair done but I hate getting mine done it takes so long I’m normally in there 4/5 hours although I haven't had it done for about 9 months I mostly just wear it up nowadays . What are you having done?xx

Ah, we're so blessed to have met you - and each other 💕. Hope your migraine is all gone today. That sounds really horrible, lying down in a dark room is the only thing to do. Glad you managed some dinner though.

Aww, that's nice that your son has a gf (but doesn't call her that!). I think my son would ideally not have used the term gf but I asked outright and he just said "er, yes" 😂.

DP brought a tree over yesterday so that has lights but nothing else on until tomorrow when we will have time to decorate it.

That sounds so lovely that you lay with your DD for 10 mins last night. Love that she feels "pain equals gain" where cushions are concerned!! I'm useless at making my bed so couldn't cope with cushions on it as well!! I'm so sorry she's going through so much with her break up too. I think children will always seek the status quo and dislike change but in time they'll see the change in you and appreciate that and get used to the new normal. I've got everything crossed that your ex has a completely unprecedented reasonably moment and you get to see your son when he's back from liverpool. It's also great news that you're rebuilding with your oldest, I think having periods of time away from their Dad's influence will be good on all of them in time and they'll gradually see at least some of the truth.

Have a great time with your parents today and your niece later on in the week!

TealPoet · 04/12/2024 12:10

I agree one hundred percent with @RaspberryBeretxx , both on the wish for ex to suddenly morph into an actual human for at least a few minutes and in thinking that the more your kids are out of his grip the better things will get in every way!

I wish you could get that relaxing bath instead of clean - your poor body needs and deserves rest not hard work! But having someone be critical about it would be miserable!

I’ve always hated having anyone touch my hair at all so I hated going to the hairdresser! I got on better at a unisex barber where clippers were more often used than scissors. Now I just hack bits off when they annoy me with my paper scissors! If mum can find the charger for the dog’s trimmer I think I’ll ask her to give me a buzzcut in the summer 🤣

RaspberryBeretxx · 04/12/2024 12:57

I cut my own hair too @TealPoet . I just can't be bothered to spend ££ and time going to the hairdressers and always find they never do what I ask anyway (I'm such a cheapskate 😝). 😂 at a doggy clipper buzzcut in the summer! I'm OK at using the hair clippers on DP now (and he can't see the back anyway which is the bit I'm worst at).

nornironlady · 04/12/2024 14:33

@Imbluedalale it's my usual cut/colour but my hairdresser always mixes it up and I just go with whatever he suggests. I've known him since childhood so I'm in safe hands. I've really thick hair which grows quite fast so I like to keep on top of it. He only does one person at a time so it should be less than 2 hours. I enjoy the peace of the salon but I do get a bit impatient to get out!

Hi @RaspberryBeretxx , how’s your day been? My parents have just left . Got a few more bits done in house I’ll attach photos. Still need abit doing such as pictures, blinds and youngest sons room but it’s getting there and I really love it.
Migraine has all gone thankfully but throat bothering me today. But all good otherwise.
Curry last night was lovely had it with some prawn crackers. Got jacket potatoes on for tea.
Awww your son sounds so sweet 🥰bless him. My youngest girlfriend is taller than him and looks about 16 😂.
I’ve decided to put a tree up next week well my mum is going to as I would have had my op by then and I might milk it for abit 😂
I think my daughter can see a change in me especially with being more positive. I think she’s struggling with the cancer and the separation more than anything else so I’m doing my best to reassure her.
I told my mum today that I haven’t spoke to you eat on phone since last week and that ex and his family were shouting names at me and she wasn’t very happy but I just said I’m not going to let it get to me . My mum said he knows he’s lost control of me so he’s trying to hurt me in other ways.
My mum said I look like a peg today 😂she said I don’t suit straight leg jeans and my jumper doesn’t go with my jeans. It did make me laugh because I’m comfy and cosy and that’s all that matters xx

I hate getting my hair done too, it’s so thick and takes forever . It needs doing but that’s right at bottom of my wish list. Maybe I’ll get it done by this time next year 😂xx

I hope you are all ready for your hair doing. I saw this video on tik tok where they focus on relaxation more than the actual hair and it looked so dreamy having a really long head and scalp massage. And she has this spaghetti thing that was massaging the head . I was relaxed watching it 😂xx
