That poor little girl. So incredibly upsetting.

Cloouudnine · 13/11/2024 12:36

It is unbearable to read. Purely evil, I can’t conclude otherwise. And the other adults complicit.

That poor little girl. I looked at my children this morning, mostly happy with a bit of grumbling about getting up early for school and not being allowed donuts for breakfast and I thought, how can anyone want to visit such suffering and pain on a child?

It is the worst imaginable horror.

Cloouudnine · 13/11/2024 12:37

@MatildaTheCat i genuinely could not be a juror in that trial. I imagine many of them will suffer second-hand ptsd.

TakeMe2Insanity · 13/11/2024 12:39

This is awful. I just can’t get past hitting his own child with a cricket bat. That poor child.

Mumlaplomb · 13/11/2024 12:40

It’s so awful I couldn’t read it in full. Glad he’s admitted it now though.

ChefsKisser · 13/11/2024 12:40

It’s one of the worst cases I’ve ever heard. I hope her father rots in hell and every one of those adults who knew what was going on should be held to account.

How was a child left in the care of this man? How does that history not, at the very least, immediately trigger SS to check the emotional and physical welfare of the child?

So many women who have suffered abuse from ex partners are forced to allow their children to have unsupervised contact with those men. Men who are abusive to partners more likely to be abusive towards their children.

Sara Sharif’s father was accused of abusing three girlfriends, court hears

Urfan Sharif allegedly reported to police for controlling behaviour by three ‘unconnected’ women before his daughter’s death

OchAyeTheN00 · 13/11/2024 12:43

Why now? Is he protecting the other adults who are just as culpable?

Wherearemymarbles · 13/11/2024 12:47

As PP said, he could well be protecting the others.
there is the question of bite marks and ms Batool refused to give permission for a cast.
she could certainly have been fully involved
they should all be done for murder

Pegsmum · 13/11/2024 12:49

The neighbours accounts of the noises they heard coming from Sara’s house haunt me.

AngsanaFlower · 13/11/2024 12:50

Is he only admitting murder as he originally denied it. If you do that and are found guilty, don’t you get a harsher sentence? Perhaps he knows he’s going down and is trying to reduce the sentence.

I hope he suffers in jail.

A couple of days ago, a video was shown of him slapping the child's face four times. When asked why he was smiling as it was shown, he said because he hasn't seen Sara in a long while.

Noting that she didn't even flinch at the slaps, Prosecution stated it was because she was used to that treatment. Sharif said that doesn't count as slapping.

The women in the family are as much to blame no matter that he now wants to take it all himself,

TinyGingerCat · 13/11/2024 12:56

There surely needs to be an inquiry into how he was awarded custody of the children. None of the information in the public domain about his known behaviour prior to get death would indicate he was in any way suitable to look after children.

I don't understand how someone can be allowed to refuse to give permission for the cast? Can someone also refuse to give permission for DNA, or fingerprints? Is very odd that he's suddenly decided to do this, I really don't think he should just be taken at his word. Especially if that means the others aren't fully examined.

I couldn't agree more. The judge who gave him custody needs to be investigated. Somethings not right there.

amIloud · 13/11/2024 12:59

I hope the others are still brought to account. Justice needs to be served, those other adults need to be punished.

sickening isn't it... i totally understand when some people say the death penalty for men like this is fair. Poor child.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/11/2024 13:01

I really don’t think ordinary members of the public should have to sit on Jury on cases as horrific has this. They’re not trained or equipped to cope with it. If I was called for Jury over anything to do with child unaliving and or abuse. I’d have to get a Doctors note to excuse me. There’s no way I could sit through anything like that. I’d either have a complete breakdown or I’d personally go for the monster and end up behind bars myself.

amIloud · 13/11/2024 13:01

He is a monster. A total monster.

Let’s not forget that a court ordered this man custody - taking the child away from her mother.

Can we have accountability for the professionals involved please? CAFCASS, the family judge…

This. In a case like this surely the police have powers to take the cast?

I don’t know the back story concerning the father having custody. I seriously doubt the mother could have possibly been a worse option for custody.
