I’ve long believed that men only buy boats to use them as floating love shacks. My friend thinks I’m being ridiculous and says boats are just a great lifestyle choice. Recently, she told me her husband is thinking of buying a boat, and I couldn’t help but give her that look! She insists he’d never cheat, but in my experience, every man I’ve known who had a boat wasn’t exactly faithful.

Honestly, if my husband bought one, I might even consider it grounds for divorce!

So, am I being unreasonable? Can men own boats without it leading to adultery, or am I totally right to be suspicious? Should men with boats just wear a t-shirt that says, "Don’t trust me?"

(For the record, this doesn’t apply to fishermen making a living or people who live on boats!)

We have a boat in the local marina. Everyone knows us so I wouldn't risk using our boat.

But people who live away have been known to conduct affairs on their boats. The marina staff have to be very careful not to confuse the wife and the OW . They've slipped up once or twice over the years which is awkward.

I mean could be true.but this is not a stereotype that I've come across. All the people I know that own boats are couples and they're almost always on the boat together.

Actually my dad boats by himself. But he stays on the lake and we can see him from the pier. I've yet to see a woman snorkeling towards the boat.

My husband has a boat but pretty sure he just goes fishing in it. I’ve been on a few trips in it with him and honestly have never felt frisky when on it

We live by the sea. I know loads of people with boats. Some of them might cheat. I doubt all of them. I don't think the boat itself is the deciding factor.

My husband has owned 3 boats, though not all at once. He's claimed they were for fishing but often returns without any fish! Stupidly, I have accepted all his excuses - too windy, too sunny, tide wrong etc
