Men with boats cheat

The subject says it all!

I’ve long believed that men only buy boats to use them as floating love shacks. My friend thinks I’m being ridiculous and says boats are just a great lifestyle choice. Recently, she told me her husband is thinking of buying a boat, and I couldn’t help but give her that look! She insists he’d never cheat, but in my experience, every man I’ve known who had a boat wasn’t exactly faithful.

Honestly, if my husband bought one, I might even consider it grounds for divorce!

So, am I being unreasonable? Can men own boats without it leading to adultery, or am I totally right to be suspicious? Should men with boats just wear a t-shirt that says, "Don’t trust me?"

(For the record, this doesn’t apply to fishermen making a living or people who live on boats!)

I don't think enough people know enough people with boats to do a proper survey...
I don't know any boat owners. My partner does have a camper van though so I suppose he could use that if he wanted.
Or in fact his house as we don't live together.

Genuinely never ever known anyone to buy a boat as a place to cheat 🤔

Maybe it's because I'm landlocked in the Midlands 🤣

I had an interesting discussion with a friend recently about why some men with boats seem to cheat. We were just chatting, not really making serious judgments, but I happened to realize that, in my experience, the men I know who own boats have either cheated or ended up divorced after cheating. It was just an observation, no deep emotions or personal investment in it.

What surprised me is how strongly you reacted to what was meant as a lighthearted comment. Maybe it’s worth reflecting on why this generalization hit home for you.

In any case, I wish you well and hope you find what you're seeking in your own life. If something is missing, maybe talking to a therapist could help. Good luck!

Kindly said.

All my friends have boats. They’re all swingers so I think you’re on to something. One couple has four boats, god knows what they get up to.

😂😂😂😂😂

Somebody has some insecurities?

Sounds like for you all men should be made to wear t-shirts saying "don't trust me".

Who on earth is using an allotment for a love-shack?

I go cycling for 3-4 hours on a Sunday. I do this so I can call into every 5th house for either a quick BJ or a shag. 😂

Now that I don't believe, cycling gear is surely the least shaggable look every invented

I live near the coast. I don't know if boats are bought deliberately to cheat but given all the stories I have heard they certainly seem to increase the opportunities

Pinkcountrybumpkin · 19/09/2024 09:30

I’ve always thought this about people who caravan, must be swingers lol

Sailing boats the berths are too narrow for hanky panky unless he has a fore or aft cabin, then you bang your head sitting up. It's got to be a big gin palace if you want comfortable romancing.

I've known newbies get sea sick on the pontoons.

I'd say a nice caravan was a better bet. It doesn't smell fusty, of fuel, the crockery will be cleaner.

But you can't beat sailing for that sense of peace, rush of adrenaline if you're into it.

I'd say men on golfing holidays get more action, well according to them they do.

We had lots of boats, from canoes and kayaks through dinghies, 20 footers and trawlers up to 60+ feet. Managed every one except the canoes. You don’t need to use the berths. On a trawler, they’re boxed in like coffins with a tiny side entrance anyway. I read a lot of this thread and everyone seems to think it needs to be a bed? What boring lives you all have , lol . He couldn’t use them for cheating because I was there

JoBrandsCleaner · 19/09/2024 11:38

Yeah you’re right, in fact any opportunity with most men. Also even if they know a woman with a boat they’ll be on there up to no good given half a chance, look at Ken Barlow! I think she should say she wants him to have a ring doorbell on the door to the cabin thing, so that she can ‘share his adventures’ he shouldn’t have a problem with that?!

Oh, we all know that men in tight Lycra shorts are only dressing for the female gaze!

Where does a man with a tent stand?

Depends how tall the tent is, but usually outside

Personally I'm not using the cabin floor, heads or galley. I like comfort 😁

Amusingly in our rowing club the lycra is worn by the men, meat and two veg bulging. The women layer up.

You had heads?
across seats , sitting on the galley seats, standing in the wheel house, while steering lol
but yeah, not exactly comfortable.

I’ve been lied to by a cheating ex-H, but I also think lots of men are honest, and lots of them also have hobbies. I know two men who have boats and would be very surprised if they are unfaithful. They both just really love sailing.
