Men with boats cheat

Boatsandcoats · 15/09/2024 21:54

The subject says it all!

I’ve long believed that men only buy boats to use them as floating love shacks. My friend thinks I’m being ridiculous and says boats are just a great lifestyle choice. Recently, she told me her husband is thinking of buying a boat, and I couldn’t help but give her that look! She insists he’d never cheat, but in my experience, every man I’ve known who had a boat wasn’t exactly faithful.

Honestly, if my husband bought one, I might even consider it grounds for divorce!

So, am I being unreasonable? Can men own boats without it leading to adultery, or am I totally right to be suspicious? Should men with boats just wear a t-shirt that says, "Don’t trust me?"

(For the record, this doesn’t apply to fishermen making a living or people who live on boats!)

Me too ✋️ 😂

Like Kanye West and Bianca Censori on a boat in Venice

Oh god I need to bleach my brain again to remove that again!

Lots of men buy boats to get away from nagging wives. (Source - I used to work in the ocean racing industry!)

Where does a man with a tent stand?

In a field with a hammer, pegs and a beer in my experience. Why?

I would estimate about 99% of men who work in the yachting industry cheat though. And thats a conservative estimate

(That's based on my time working in the industry and it I knew they were married i wasn't interested but I was a total rarity it would seem)

It's insider information!

OP, what is your opinion on women who buy boats?

I haven't got one perhaps they are trying to get rid of a husband though!

Hahahaha I grew up in NZ and my parents and their close friends had boats.

As far as I know out of the five couples, three of the husbands ended up being 100% confirmed cheats.

Make of that what you will.

The other 2 jusy had wives who looked the other way

I've had an impromptu shag on a boat.

Back in the day of course, so I don't know who it belonged to. But I reckon it worked a charm for this fella.

Now if I hear someone older had bought a boat, my first thought is mid life crisis. And that unfortunately ties in with having affairs.

So yeah OP I think it's considers quite the pulling tool. I think land based mlc signs are motorbikes.

Toastghost · 16/09/2024 05:56

I’m awake at 5.55 reading about men with boats. Thanks for the information op.

Jjiillkkf · 16/09/2024 06:16

I think you're on to something OP. The wild adventure men types and the midlife crisis ones, dirty sea dog bohemians

Webbymeister · 16/09/2024 06:19

No but all pilots are shaggers. Even the ones you think are not

Also the smell of damp

My SIL’s mum, a widow reconnected with a boyfriend from her schooldays. He was married but had a yacht in a marina that he would stay on for weeks at a time but his wife didn’t because she hated it. SIL’s mum would go and stay with him until he had to go home. The kicker, he was 88 and she was 85! Carried on until he died.

so there might be something to your theory after all!

ThePrologue · 16/09/2024 06:23

Have you tried shagging on a punt? Take an anti-emetic first

One of the most ridiculously assumptive posts in a very long time

Beekeepingmum · 15/09/2024 22:09

Who on earth is using an allotment for a love-shack?

When I was young (and less fussy about nice bedding) my Greek boyfriend and I would get frisky among his dad's tomatoes.

ThePrologue · 16/09/2024 06:25

mitogoshi · 15/09/2024 22:27

We don't have a boat unless a blow up kayak counts Grin

Is that the equivalent of a blow-up doll?!

Ethylred · 16/09/2024 06:27

The OP doesn't mean "men with boats" but "billionaires with yachts".

As I read this, the Ketchup song popped into my head 😂

Total earworm and I cant even sing along.

I probably should have put that in quotation marks - I was just quoting what a lot of them said.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 16/09/2024 06:44

Well, I think you are onto something, OP. I believe Jerome K Jerome had to leave a lot out of Three Men in a Boat in the interests of common decency!

3luckystars · 16/09/2024 06:49

I only know one person with a boat, but he came into the relationship with a boat so I think he is ok?

All others though, I agree with you. I feel the same way about conservatives.

Wigglytails · 16/09/2024 06:50

Hmmm

Men with boats cheat
TheWayTheLightFalls · 16/09/2024 06:51

The one man I know with a boat is a shagger. Ran a “language school” on a barge but ended up having an affair with a student.

I had sex on a boat once, on a lake in Johannesburg. It was bumpy.
