Halloween duvet sets. WTF?

Saw in Home Bargains today. Took no notice of sizes or prices.

This is worse than Xmas bedding and cushions.

I think having themed bedding is pointless and besides you want a Xmas free room to chill out

Pumpkins are out, presumably ruffles and florals are out in that case, what’s allowed … plain satin? On a circular bed?

Who mentioned lilo and stich? Again... normally a bit preoccupied. The pattern on duvet cover, isn't a show stopper.

I once made the mistake of having plain black satin bedding and wearing satin pyjamas.... launched myself into bed and nearly slid right out the other side. Should come with a health warning....

There is a load of Halloween dog stuff out now too. Dog PJs, toys, Halloween themed treats etc. You can even get a little pair of bat wings to put on your pooch.

Satin bedding + satin sheets surely is up there in hilarity with trying to have a session on a waterbed. Funny, but not happening!

Life would be very dull without the seasonal celebrations tbh. I'm not into Christian Christmas IYSWIM, but I enjoy the magical trappings. These things all developed to stave off fear, depression and inertia, especially in the Winter months, and to celebrate life in the Spring and Summer. Yes, plastic tat is an issue, but as others have pointed out, duvets and homewares aren't as "disposable". Also, if you like to make things, duvet sets with interesting patterns = reasonably priced fabric. Win win I say.

I have some Hallowe'en teatowels with black cats on them, but I happen to own two Black Cats so I could use these all year
I love Hallowe'en , though I only decorate on the night itself and give out sweets if I;m here ( if I'm not then no decoration)

And I have Winter Bedding ( DS and DD have grey nordic deer and fir tree , DH and I have wine red with a couple of robin patterned pillowcases ) goes on Dec 1st untill it stops being cold ( washed obvs)

DD insists on Nov 1st for hers !

I have one like that, bought c1989. I love it still, but it's now so faded you can barely see it once had stripes!! But it feels perfect! It too is one step away from a traumatic toe nail end of life catastrophic!!😢

Well there you go.., The nightmare before Christmas ones can be used for Halloween and Christmas!

i have a giant tapestry with snakes/pentagram/astrology all over it above my bed, an Altar on my sideboard, and a bunch of creepy-ass cryptid stuffies on my chest of drawers, and fairies/dragons staring down from the walls... There's also owls, rabbits, foxes and deer all over my bedspread, and ghosts on my rug.. and it never bothered my partner <shrug>

TK Max have a load of actually really cool Gothic plates with skulls on. I'm not in the least into Halloween but I thought they were very cool!

the 'waste of money' people clearly think we're buying stuff and putting it away end of halloween.

Oh.. honey, no. its out all year around. Most of my house decor is from Killstar or Nemesis now. My halloween purchases just get added to the rest.

I tell a lie, there is a small handful of things i put away, namely the tacky tinsel cat, my autumnal garland, and my pumpkin lantern. have to have something special to put out over Samhain.

Considered making a halloweeen tree this year just to piss people off.

I didn't know that Halloween interior design was a thing until last year I was in the queue in Primark and overheard two women discussing what they were buying for "Halloween decor". It included duvet covers, throws, bathmats and various pumpkin shaped ceramic jars. One asked the other where she stored the Halloween stuff when she changed over for the christmas decor, and she replied that she just gave everything away to the charity shop as she not only didn't have the space, but there would be new stuff out every year so she wouldn't want to keep old stuff!

I've started a gothic gallery wall. Taking me a while as I'm hunting for nice prints and bits to go on it, mixing it in with some Romeo and Juliet and Buffy stuff
