Halloween duvet sets. WTF?

Saw in Home Bargains today. Took no notice of sizes or prices.

This is worse than Xmas bedding and cushions.

I think having themed bedding is pointless and besides you want a Xmas free room to chill out

YABVU

Like a few others on this thread, I have Halloween homeware out all year round. It is my aesthetic... what I buy and use has no impact on you at all.

Same I have coffin shaped shelves in my living room full of skulls and bats, there is a tiny pumpkin too. I'm eyeing up a bat shelf for my next purchase🦇🦇🦇.

spikeandbuffy24 · 30/08/2024 20:57

Pretty sure I don't NEED glow in the dark pjs but did I just order them?

Yes Grin

TheAlchemy · 30/08/2024 21:00

Who is shagging in a pumpkin bedspread? Honestly can’t think of anything more strange. It’s up there with all the Disney stuff. Bizarre.

Ok, what sort of bedding is acceptable for shagging in? Plain satin sheets?

My bedding right now is astronaut cats. Have shagged on/under it plenty of times.

Yes. Pumpkins, Frankenstein and witches (purple). So not for Goths. But had Nightmare Before Christmas stuff

Happy Halloween was on the bedding. I hate that phrase

Erm, as a lifestyle Goth (vintage to boot) Frankenstein, pumpkins and witches are definitely part of the tradition / aesthetic. We too come in many genres. Did you know it's Mary Shelley's birthday today?

What a bizarre thing to think.

Bet your sex life is really exciting if all you can think about it's the pattern on the bedspread

TheMauveBeaker · 30/08/2024 21:15

Can’t be doing with it, nor Christmas bedding for that matter. Utter nonsense.

user1471538283 · 30/08/2024 21:19

Oh no it's just more stuff. But then too much stuff makes me anxious. I like Halloween and I used to love taking my DS around trick or treating and later seeing the little ones all dressed up. Unfortunately we don't get trick or treaters now. Now it's chocolate, an autumnal candle and a scary movie.

I do worry that this puts more pressure on people each year.

I can guarantee it’s better than yours because my bedroom doesn’t look like a fucking theme park 😂😂😂

YankSplaining · 30/08/2024 21:20

I just bought my two daughters matching sheets that are printed with cats and dogs wearing costumes and trick-or-treating. (Or, as half of Mumsnet calls it, “begging for sweets from strangers.” 😂) We’re planning to use them for all of September and October for the next several years.

I find interesting how seasonal decorations seem draw ire for so many people on this site, who tend to argue that it’s bad for the environment. No one goes after makeup users, who are going to throw away all those little plastic cases, or women who use hormonal birth control and put synthetic estrogen into the water systems. I’m not coming after those people either, but I think we all have things we do that have an environmental impact, and I don’t know why seasonal decorations have been singled out as the bugbear here.

Nah. No one who cares about the pattern on bedding can possibly have a good a sex life. Soz!

Maybe open yourself up a bit. It can improve

MistressoftheDarkSide · 30/08/2024 21:28

And I have a ouija board throw for my bed. Well, until last night I did but unfortunately my familiar sprayed on it last night so it's currently in the washing machine. Also, in terms of sustainability, I have some real human bones - femurs and ribs. They are very old.

Some people find pumpkins and fucking lilo and stitch decor to be a bit of a mood killer. If you’re into it that’s great though congrats

MistressoftheDarkSide · 30/08/2024 21:29

And that's before you get into the vintage medical instrument collection.

ManhattanPopcorn · 30/08/2024 21:30

Wtf indeed. Halloween is one day. Who needs a duvet cover for one day?

MistressoftheDarkSide · 30/08/2024 21:31

Heh heh heh.

Peonies12 · 30/08/2024 21:32

It’s ridiculous, such a waste of the planets resources. And who can afford all this crap?!

hulahooper2 · 30/08/2024 21:33

I bought us all one from Ss asda last year , we love halloween and it’s very cosy and also reversible to a non seasonal print . we will probably use them sept to end of november , washing frequently, then the christmas ones can come out.

Why is it a waste if you use it year round?
I'm wearing Halloween socks. I won't wear them for just one day
Halloween stuff is just normal decor to me

Well, the Halloween duvet sets don't tend to cost anymore than any other ones.

And plenty of us buy them and use it all year round.

Or would you like the government to issue standard duvet sets for the population? Grey, perhaps? Maybe to match our jumpsuits.
