Dh’s mum is likely to pass away, Dd having intrusive thoughts, do I tell my parents not to come and stay? (title edited by MNHQ at request of OP)

We live abroad, my parents are due to come out this weekend to stay as they always do. My Dd has been quite ill for a week or so, signs of inflammation, erratic behaviour and saying some awful things (intrusive thoughts) I’ve told my parents this. Now we’ve just found out that Dh’s mum is due to pass away.
Everything seems to be coming down at once, do I tell my parents to cancel the flight until another time or could it be a help having them
around, what would you do?

@CatMumSlave She has died now. Has that clarified it for you? So insensitive.

Sorry to hear that, OP. Ignore the pedants.

How is your DH?

Are your parents there?

Ignore the pedants?? I guess you didn’t see the original title then? Dh mum has died, then in opening post, dh mum is due to pass away, then in the next post, likely to die today. It was confusing at first, and sounded disrespectful/insensitive given that his mum hadn’t passed away. Imagine if OP’s dh had seen the thread, with the title saying his mum had died when she hadn’t?! My reply was to the confused poster, simply clarifying what she had actually seen. Nothing pedantic at all.

Sorry for your, dh, dd loss, OP. I hope you’ve found a way through with your parents visit etc.

@CatMumSlave , I'm so sorry. My condolences.

I hope that the parents are being sensitive and giving you all space. You might need to be quite firm if not. Take care of yourselves.
