You don't pay money on it when you die because you're dead. The people who pay money on it are your beneficiaries, who have not worked hard for it all their lives, saved it, or paid any previous tax on it. They have simply been given it as free money. Even after they have paid tax on it, they have still benefitted enormously without any effort on their own part, so are hardly in a position to complain.

More votes than the Lib Dems - who would have thought it - probably the best a brand new party have ever done

Nearly half Labour in votes. It’s pretty high
