So, summer in nearly upon us and I still haven't gotten into shape!
AIBU to ask some of you to join me in a 30 day challenge to strive towards being a little bit healthier?
My aim is to get up early every morning and do a 30 min walk/run and stick to a healthy diet.
I'm hoping we could all post a message every night/other night updating on our progress and being a support of sorts to each other to keep us focused on our long term goal.
Anyone up for it?

12st 12.8lbs this morning, so 1lb down since yesterday. Went to bed earlier than usual and then it took me ages to go off to sleep, so didn't get up earlier this morning and haven't done a workout. Will be out for a walk after work so hopefully will get my 10k steps today.

Planned food is:
B: all bran
L: ham salad with cottage cheese, Greek yoghurt
D: steak, mushrooms, asparagus.

Got to keep drinking water today!

Morning all! Day 9. Well done on all your progress!

Had slim fast and berries for breakfast plus a coffee. Lunch will be chicken salad, fish pie for tea. On my way into the office where there are snacks on offer so I may have a chocolate bar or some crisps.

Day 7 weigh in - lost 4 lbs so now down to 10st. I want to see the 9's. Been very disciplined with what I eat - tracking on myfitnesspal app. I do zero exericise and work from home. I need to start walking and will start coach 2 5k when son finishes his a levels so he can join me.

Did 30ds
Breakfast - protein smoothie
Lunch - chicken salad
Dinner - 2 sausages and a slice of vegan cake with vegan cream (yesterday was ds bday)
Snacks - one salt and vinegar rice cake, rest of my honeycomb and some raisins

Weighed today and am 11st9 so 2lbs down. I weigh myself quite often so I'm aware that I fluctuate by a pound or 2 so not sure if it's a 2lb loss that'll stick iyswim. Fingers crossed 🤞
Did day 18 of 30 day shred this morning, glad I'm sticking to that. Struggling more with level 2 though, I'd hope it'd be easier by now and it is a bit easier, but not much 🙁 how are you getting on with it @SpicyNikNak ?

Hi everyone, yesterday was good. Today I made it to the gym, had a very gentle work out as it has been a while! I have soup for lunch but with added lentils or I’d struggle to not snack later.

Hey @lairyfights9 much like you I continue to struggle with 30ds. I can feel my strength and core getting easier but I'm really struggling with my knees on the cardio! Today is my last day of level 1 then I'm taking a day possibly two off to let my joints rest. I'm frustrated to be honest as my heads there but my knees are slowing me down. I'm sticking with it though. You are nearly through level 2!! That's inspiring me to keep on it so thank you!

I managed a 4lb loss in my first week, which is respectable. I would be more pleased if I hadn't weighted 2lb less on Saturday as now I feel cheated! However, that's just the luck of the water retention draw. I tend to check my weight daily but only officially count it once a week. I feel I've got the worst of my bread and sugar withdrawals over with, and am now just thinking of them fondly but still able to resist.

Feeling a bit 💙today as I stupidly decided to weigh myself and after losing 1 kg in the first 6 days I have apparently gained 400g back on in just 3ish days... despite fasting until 5.30/6pm most days and only having snacks after dinner/trying to minimise those snacks.

Otherwise I fasted until about 6pm today and did my 30 min workout, only had a slice of birthday cake after dinner today. Here's hoping the regaining of weight is just a glitch...

Good morning, some fab losses so far. I'm 2lb down (after staying the same because of my snacking at the weekend). Managing my water and dod a dance class last night.

Got a walk planned for tonight, planning on doing 2.5-3 miles. Food is good this week and water on track. Need to cut back on the nuts, I'm snacking on to many of those, need to stock up on some low carb snacks this weekend. Ive volunteered for an extra duty at lunch at work so I'm on my feet for an extra 35 minutes and coming home a longer route 3 days per week so adding another mile and a half to my journey.

7lb to go for June to get to my target of being under 200lb.

Morning, I had a good day yesterday. Lots of steps in and good choices with food. Terrible
nights sleep though so hoping I don’t crave sugar to keep me going later! How’s it going @Thistle101 ?

Morning all. Well done everyone. I'm late to the game but would like to start.

I had a rare photo taken of me the other day and it got put on social media and I'm really upset at the way I look. I would like to lose a stone. I carry on the tops of my arms!

Yesterday 💛 solely because I ate half a big pack of crisps which worked out at like 450 calories!! Otherwise would've been a red one.
Did 30ds
Breakfast - protein smoothie
Lunch - tuna mayo jacket potato
Dinner - duck stir fry with a slice of birthday cake after. The cake is now gone so at least that's not around to tempt me 👍
Snack - aforementioned crisps 😬

Done day 19 of 30 day shred this morning. Only one day left of level 2 thank god! I don't actually feel quite ready to move on to level 3 but I don't want to mess with completing it so I'm going to move up anyway. Well done @SpicyNikNak 😊 frustrating for you that your body's not playing ball, but hopefully a few days rest will help! Lovely to know I'm helping with inspiration ❤️

Couldn't weigh myself until today as I've been away for a couple of days. 13 stone 2 this morning which is 4lb down since starting.

My biggest problem at home is still snacking. I need some healthier / lower calorie snacks. I mostly drink low calorie drinks or water and rarely any alcohol.

When I'm away, I snack very little but my biggest problem is alcohol. I do enjoy a social drink and hate being the only one not drinking. When I've lost weight previously, I drank white wine spritzers and a spirit with a diet mixer. I've gone right off wine spritzers so is the spirit + diet mixer my only option, or can someone offer any better suggestions?

I don't understand this fasting until tea time thing. I thought it was better to eat earlier in the day and try not to have so much in the evening. Has the thinking changed on that?

I have bought a hula hoop. I used to be able to do it as a child. It's giving me lots of exercise bending to pick it up. I can't do it at all! Very frustrating.

I don't think it particularly matters what time you eat, you just have to be in a calorie deficit. I think different methods just work for different people. I could never fast until dinner, I get too hungry.

Had 2 slices of pizza at lunch today as we had a team day at work, so not a great food day so far. Home made chicken curry tonight.

So far so good today. Calories are low so I'm looking forward to a cornflake supper soon. I'm managing to avoid snacking which is nothing short of a miracle for me!! MFP is helping to stop me blindly raiding the cupboards! No 30ds today but still a ❤️. I'm impressed with hula hooping @CatrionaCat I might give that a whirl (pardon the pun)!

Ok here today.

I feel much better having arrested the slow but steady continuous gains since Christmas. I kept thinking of my last weight recorded in the app I use - which genuinely does help stop me going into denial about how much I eat - and I just couldn't bring myself to enter the new higher weight. I kept telling myself I'd get back to my last weight and then carry on so I'd have a long plateau rather than a gain. Of course, this is ridiculous because I weight the same whether I write it down or not! Anyway, last week when I started on this thread I finally did write it down, largely got over myself (though still feel cross about it) and am now on track to whittle it back down. I gained two stone since Christmas, which has just been so unnecessary, but there's nothing to do except face that two stone and then face the stone and a half beyond that I'd still like to lose. Oh well, it's now one stone and ten pounds since Christmas :)

No snacks 👍

Day 20 of 30ds ✅ glad to finally be done with level 2. I may be begging for it back tomorrow though! Day at home today so hoping I won't be too bad food wise.. I always really struggle with my eating when home all day. Hope everyone has a good day 😊

Yesterday was Day 10 for me. Time is flying!

I am only down .9kg in the 10 days, despite controlling the calories really well, and have almost totally cut out snacks.

I notice that my food intake is fairly carb heavy. I am going to try up the protein and cut back on the carbs.

I will also try increase my water content, though I do drink loads of tea.

Afternoon all. Day 11!

A better food day than yesterday. Slim fast and berries for breakfast, scrambled eggs and salad for lunch, doing home made burgers for tea. Did have a bag of doritos but kept to my calories.

Dinner - bolognaise with cauliflower rice instead of pasta and a bit of mango sorbet after

Ugh the days I spend at home are always the absolute hardest. I guess it's just boredom but I just want to eat everything!! Managing to just overdo it on pop tarts is actually pretty decent for me but I still feel guilty and weak for it.
