To think that most people pee in the pool, on holiday? Do you?

Just back from a hot holiday. Hotel had a lovely big pool, with a swim up bar serving all manner of cocktails, wine, beer etc. People would be in the pool for hours drinking, chatting etc. Surely everyone is actually peeing in the pool? And do you?

Erm no! Why would you see anywhere other than a toilet as a fully functioning adult?!

Amblesidebadger · 15/05/2024 19:26

No!

Well, let’s think. Get out of pool, go to sun lounger, dry off a bit, chuck flip flops on, toddle off to the public loo or back to your room, have wee after wrangling wet cossie down, sausage self back into wet cossie, toddle back, ensure towel is in sun to dry, remove shoes, jump back into lovely water.

Or just take ten seconds to literally piss your pants.

(I don’t do it by the way, for I have a bladder of steel, and also it’s gross)

Side tracking a bit, but I thought everyone just whipped the gusset to the side and then did a wee. Taking off and putting back on a wet costume is one mean feat.

On the loo that is.

Ex-pool technician here, we used to gain at least 15 gallons of liquid per day during peak season, so most of you are lying!

😂 that is a fair amount extra

aintnospringchicken · 15/05/2024 19:35

Heck no !!
That's so gross.

wasdarknowblond · 15/05/2024 19:37

Peeing in the pool is absolutely foul. Anyway Lifeguards can see it from the poolside because it changes the colour of the water round the pee’er and some other swimmers can see it too!

I don’t believe this. But I have never been on holiday where the hotel pools have lifeguards. 🥴

Ilovecleaning · 15/05/2024 19:42

Absolutely not.

Ewww that’s 120 pints! How many gallons of pool was it. And surely you lose loads as people get out of the water. Bleurghh.

Years ago I read about a fish parasite that can is attracted to urine and can burrow into your urethra called the Candiru and crikey it scared me!

Pretty sure that’s just in the Amazon river. You’re fine in the Med 😂

K0OLA1D · 15/05/2024 14:28

Indeed, everyone has their price 🤣. Never say never. I will await the mn post. Where are you going on your holidays this year?

Not decided yet but it will involve a pool and beach without 💩
What about you?

BobbyBiscuits · 15/05/2024 19:56

I can't work out whether everyone is on a windup as DM have it, or do people really piss the pool?? Really? Crikey. Funny though 🤣

VK456 · 15/05/2024 19:58

I admit I did a couple of times when I was very small, but never since.
Vile.

It’s was a horrific program! I swear that if I ever caught one of my daughters weeing in the pool I would make them watch it as punishment!

With climate change and international shipping there is always a chance that they could be in an ocean or sea near you!

Just remember Chinese Mitten Crabs arrived by boat, were originally just found in the Thames, but have now spread elsewhere including the River Severn!

No way, and not in the sea either, that's just as bad!

Jeannie88 · 15/05/2024 20:14

Even with the chlorine I always assume people have peed in the pool, mostly kids. That's why we all immediately showered afterwards once back in our rooms, well as well as washing the chlorine off. We don't, my dc goes to the toilet, but I'm sure many do. Xx

Hermione7 · 15/05/2024 20:15

Of course not

CowboyJoanna · 15/05/2024 20:16

Peeing in the pool is absolutely disgusting. But it seems a lot of people think differently these days...

Mind you, we never take the kids to our local swimming baths because its full of scuzzy chavs letting their sproglets shit in the pool Envy

Getonwitit · 15/05/2024 20:21

No, i am old enough to use a toilet.

No it really really isn't. Not even in the same league!

The sea is worse think of the poor fish!! At least in the pool it is contained in a vessel that is disposed of as grey water after being bleached to death.

StampOnTheGround · 15/05/2024 20:26

No I don't, but remember if there are kids in the pool they'll be wee everywhere as swim nappies only stop poo!

bloodyBorat · 15/05/2024 20:30

Swim nappies definitely do not stop the pee from escaping into the water. Made the mistake of using a swim nappy instead of a normal one for my DS when he was a baby (long car journey and couldn't remember which bag the nappies were in, but had a swim one readily accessible in the swim bag). The urine literally just flowed straight through and onto his clothes, absolute nightmare.

stormy4319trevor · 15/05/2024 20:33

I'm worried at so many peeing in the sea. Love to go to the beach, but not to swim in a cocktail of other people's urine. I know you may think the sea is big, but when you have a concentration of people in the safe area to swim, the pee of 50 or so people will just be swirling around for ages. And the poor fish, seals etc. In a pool is revolting too.
