To think that most people pee in the pool, on holiday? Do you?

Just back from a hot holiday. Hotel had a lovely big pool, with a swim up bar serving all manner of cocktails, wine, beer etc. People would be in the pool for hours drinking, chatting etc. Surely everyone is actually peeing in the pool? And do you?

OP posts:

No. Yuk.

JanglingJack · 16/05/2024 06:40

No of course not. Apart from it being disgusting, I would have thought it would be obvious with the yellow 'cloud' forming around you.

Minging.

All pools are full of urine and faeces

That's why you come out with your eyes bleached.

BreakingAndBroke · 16/05/2024 06:43

The swimming pools near me only let you book in for a 1 hour time slot. I would imagine most people can hold it for that long.

Sadly I haven't been to any such exciting pool-bars, but if I saw people were drinking for hours and not getting out of the pool for hours, I would be very suspicious!

Get out of pool (or sea!) to pee; it’s gross if that’s what was happening

Loos at every beach you've been to? Because they haven't been at everyone I've been to

Vile special place in hell for people who do this

There will be many people in that spot in hell then.

I think it's best kept for those who commit actual crimes, like murder, rape etc.

This has to be the biggest over reaction I have seen here, and there are many.

BernardBlacksBreakfastWine · 16/05/2024 07:03

I’m not sure about this ‘get out of the sea to pee’ thing? Where are the loos at a beach?!

I think maybe people are trying to out-pearl-clutch each other here.

JJathome · 16/05/2024 07:04

No, I get out. But I do assume some people do do this. And I’m afraid that includes you op 😂

Ohnoitsfinallyhappened · 16/05/2024 07:04

Ever go to a public pool and see the swim team training for hours on end? Guess what? They don't get out for a wee - it would ruin the set. It's not very pleasant as the person 2 foot in front of you lets it go but --- that's swim training dedication for you!!

Universalrehearsal · 16/05/2024 07:16

That's why they call it a swim up urinal Envy

mitogoshi · 16/05/2024 07:22

Thankfully you don't see swim up bars in Europe now, means people get out of the pools!

Shade17 · 16/05/2024 07:25

doorbellringer2 · 16/05/2024 00:12

Definitely not.
I have a completely rational fear of pools having the chemical in them that turns urine bright blue, and thus, a blue ink cloud would gather round my undercarriage.
Further more - people would gather round me pointing and call me a squid.

Doesn’t everyone?

A fear of something that doesn’t exist isn’t rational!

Been watching this thread a couple of days and can't help noticing the vote for the OP not being unreasonable has been creeping up. 2% swing in the last 24 hrs to 17%.
It seems some people are being emboldened into honesty...

clarehhh · 16/05/2024 08:50

How revolting

Grammarnut · 16/05/2024 11:12

Peeing in the sea is okay. Not in a pool, even though it is chlorinated. UK swimming pools that allow infants specify that pool proof nappies are used, so no-one thinks peeing in the pool is reasonable.

Another one who doesn’t understand swim nappies!

Baffled

BernardBlacksBreakfastWine · 16/05/2024 11:55

K0OLA1D · 16/05/2024 11:51

Baffled

Swim nappies can contain solid matter only. Nothing of that sort can contain urine in a pool environment.

edited to say I realise now that you may have been baffled by the previous poster’s lack of understanding, not by swim nappies themselves- sorry!!

Yes I know. I am baffled that people don't understand it. And it's been mentioned about a million times already on this thread

A local pool did this once. They had to stop using the chemical as the whole pool was constantly full of urine.

Definitely puts you off using public swimming pools 🤢

FLOWER1983 · 16/05/2024 12:16

That's the reason i would never go in the pool

@TommyWooWoo well that's what I was told by a lifeguard working there at the time. Said they couldn't use it for this reason
