They have always been inclusive of biological women who identify as trans men and also non binary.

But allowing men who identify as women into their sessions whilst vulnerable women are learning how to breastfeed? Seriously? And what about women like myself from a faith that doesn't permit men to be in intimate spaces with women? What about women like myself who are survivors of domestic abuse who had to learn to breastfeed whilst making symptoms of PTSD.
I don't want biological males hijacking these services for women!!!! It makes me feel unsafe, traumatised and afraid for my daughters.

Why is LLL suddenly falling over themselves to accommodate men with fetishes for lactation?

I feel like I'm going crazy when I read what's happening to places like LLL and Girl Guides.

Why are people so dangerously naive now?

This insanity just keeps going on and on and on doesn't it?
It's all about what men want.
As usual.

GoldThumb · 04/05/2024 11:58

Wtf? What fresh hell is this?

Men can’t breastfeed.

Theres no need for them to even be there in the first place

CarrotSpa · 04/05/2024 11:59

I’d be deeply, deeply suspicious of any man regardless of how he identifies, who wishes to make an infant suck his nipple.

MoiraRosesRosesGarden · 04/05/2024 12:00

YANBU.
Men can’t breastfeed.
Isn’t it now well known that one of the manifestations of AGP is fetishising breastfeeding? Why are LLL accepting this and not safeguarding the fuck out of it?

MalcolmTuckersSwearBox · 04/05/2024 12:00

It's beyond loopy and a tragedy from an organisation who made a real difference. Another betrayal

TheSandgroper · 04/05/2024 12:12

Meanwhile, in Australia … look up Jasmine Sussex because, you know, she knows biology quite well.

Can’t have that. So, take your pick from the below.

All of this shit shows how deeply ingrained into society the importance of prioritising and pleasing men is.
What men want must always come before what women want.
What men want must come before what women need
Men's feelings must come before women's safety.
The worst thing you can do is not prioritise men because not prioritising them is hating them.
Women's concerns are unimportant and must be dismissed.
Women who refuse to be subservient and comply must be burned at the stake criminalised, threatened or cancelled.

Same old same old.

I'm only surprised we haven't seen the reintroduction of the scold's bridle or the ducking stool.

borntobequiet · 04/05/2024 12:14

YANBU

WandsOut · 04/05/2024 12:18

What kind of woman would support this is also a question I'm starting to seriously worry about.

IncompleteSenten · 04/05/2024 12:22

If you look throughout history these things have always been supported by women.

Normally through fear of becoming the next target or because they have been really strongly socially conditioned.

We're about 50% of the global population. That's a big threat to the status quo so a lot of effort goes into ensuring we behave ourselves.

Somethingsnappy · 04/05/2024 12:23

YANBU, op. I've always been a big supporter of LLL, but my support will end with this, unless they do some serious, backtracking.

On a side note, the NHS seem to be coming to their senses now, at least.

Laiste · 04/05/2024 12:25

God it's so depressing.

Just when it seemed the tide was turning back to sanity a bit. (sports ect)

Caffeineislife · 04/05/2024 12:28

The only women I know who have used the services of La Leche League have been struggling BF mothers. These women have been very vulnerable and desperate for support due to woeful NHS BF services. The last thing they needed was to be in a position where a MAN has a fetish that he wants satisfying. It's deeply insulting and insensitive to a woman who is struggling to BF and feeling vulnerable to be sharing a space and support with a biological male who is "accessing support" for his fetish.

As a PP has said above, it's not just women who have experienced SA, women of faith and also women who in their time of vulnerability don't want to be in a mixed sex space. BF is a FEMALE bodily function and so BF support services should be FEMALE spaces.

The only way to stop this is if we as females don't use their services, don't pay for membership. It's going to have to be a go woke go broke situation before they understand. If they want to be a fetish organisation then they can continue offering their services to men and we women can find somewhere else to access our support. It shouldn't be this way, but unfortunately it is. Hopefully a rival company will start up and insist on women only we can all use their services.

WandsOut · 04/05/2024 12:32

@Laiste It feels like every day, another new horrible infraction of women's safety.
This is the tip of the iceberg I reckon.

Thelnebriati · 04/05/2024 12:33

YANBU. Its legal for LLL to be a single sex service here in the UK, and the US head office have no business trying to impose their own standards.

ajdhpoqnavd · 04/05/2024 12:34

Re-reading 1984, and read this line today; "freedom is having the freedom to say 2 plus 2 is 4". Feels apt here.

Womblingmerrily · 04/05/2024 12:35

I think the use of a virtual scold's bridle is in constant use to silence women.

It's called 'be kind'

Dogsaregods · 04/05/2024 12:44

How do they even square the logic of men pretending to be women having access to breastfeeding advice?
Actual women who don’t have children would be given the bums rush for time wasting if they wanted to avail of this advice 🤯

CarrotSpa · 04/05/2024 11:59

100% this. This is not relatively harmless cosplay.

MrsTerryPratchett · 04/05/2024 15:26

Is the idea that someone pitches up without an infant and just 'joins in'? I mean would they let some random bloke in off the street to leer?

Or do you have to come with your own infant and 'join in'? Latching on etc.

I don't know which one is more worrying.

Iamnotalemming · 04/05/2024 15:29

YANBU. It's frankly outrageous.

AllCatsAreAutistic · 04/05/2024 15:34

I'll get back to you when I have worked out who irritates me more: the trans lobby or the breastfeeding absolutists.

AhNowTed · 04/05/2024 15:37

Exactly this.

Nothing new under the sun.

I just wish I had the answers.

Maybe I can help you decide.

One of these groups has members who get sexual gratification pretending to breastfeed newborns. The other does not.
