For voting Tory

I know what the Tories are and no, I don't like it. But I'm a woman, I have daughters and I come from generations of women who've been abused and dismissed because of their sex. I want better for my girls but I can't do it on my own. I need a government who will (at least give lip service to) supporting me. Am I a Tory? no. But the last thing women need is to be fighting their own government for basic recognition, so Tory it is.

Since you are aware of male violence I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want single sex spaces?

Who said I didn't?

I said I would have mens, women's, and unisex.

There is no way to police bathrooms though so that evil assholes don't enter. How would this be accomplished?

No policing needed according to @EasternStandard. In which case I don’t understand how this law she keeps talking about would be enforced.

Underthinker · 18/04/2024 16:11

BIossomtoes · 18/04/2024 16:06

What happens if you run a red light? You get prosecuted, no?

Only if you get caught. The chances of being seen by police at any set of lights must be tiny. So therefore the law can't reliably be enforced, so therefore we should just abandon the law right?

Women can report a law breaker. We do this now for other crimes, why the reluctance in this instance?

You're acknowledging males are the more violent sex class wouldn’t you prefer the law in your favour to back up
those single sex spaces?

To say males are more likely to be rapists or violent so let’s just keep mixed sex is insanity to me

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 18/04/2024 16:13

You don't catch every shoplifter, that doesn't mean there shouldn't be laws about it/make it ok to shoplift.

Violent men are going to assault you anyway so just let all men in is the wildest comment I've had the misfortune to read, even for the regular male apologist posters.

How dare you.

I am not in any way a male apologist. I am pointing out the lack of practicality FOR BATHROOMS.

I have made my points perfectly clear on other single sex spaces and how they can be enforced.

I have not name called anyone here and it's sad that I can't have the same respect in return.

I know better than MOST ever will about male violence. Calling me a male apologist for pointing out male violence is frankly vile.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 18/04/2024 16:14

*Saying that trans women can use the ladies (or trans men can use the gents) is not the same as saying "violent men are going to assault you anyway so just let all men in".

This is why the logical end point is Taliban-esque segregation. Because at some point men and women have to mix. And at that point women are at risk.

It amazes me that despite GC posters regularly saying "this isn't about bathrooms" it always ends up being about bathrooms.*

👍

Bathrooms are not mixed spaces.

Are you proposing women call the police when they suspect a transwoman is using the bathroom?

I'm curious how this will work in your eyes.

Yep 😂🤗

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 18/04/2024 16:23

Any space where a woman is vulnerable, a man shouldn't be. Prisons, rape crisis centres, receiving intimate care, and yes bathrooms as this involves a state of undress. Whether policed or not.

AdamRyan · 18/04/2024 16:27

So to get back to the point, are the Tories going to protect your toilets?

I would like safeguarding reinstated for women

No one has to do anything but if they feel unsafe they have recourse

Going back to your pp where you talked about feeling unsafe you seem to get it. I would like the law to be on the side of women in that instance by providing single sex spaces and a process they can use to get help

We have all sorts of laws, for some reason women are being overridden by gender ideology currently

Given you acknowledge male violence perhaps you’d like better laws

I agree with you, and I think referring to you as a male apologist constitutes a personal attack.
