Why are they so bloody lovely? We don’t deserve them do we? Loyalty like no other. Always happy to see you. People are great but dogs just go above and beyond.

Why would anyone who doesn't like dogs , comment on a dog appreciation post 🙈

Because they are an attention seeking twat.

Levisticum · 08/02/2024 19:51

Adorable DD is the bestest girl ever. Only four months after coming here, when she was terrified of going outside, I have awarded her her Advanced Off-Leash Dog Certificate (for walking off-lead, off-piste in the woods without going off on little adventures on her own). She’s also a little ray of sunshine around the house 🥰.

Mine’s the world’s biggest twat. Wouldn’t change him for the world.

She reminds me of Sprocket from Fraggle Rock! 🥰

I love this thread! My lovely girl gives me so much happiness, I chat to her all the time and keeps my early retired husband definetly out of my hair. She cries to be cuddled and is always so excited to see me. A total and utter joy - I see having a dog as a simple pleasure - no agenda just sunshine and happiness. And she is incredibly well trained and will never run up to anyone (see PP upthread!) but will be pleased to see you if you come to visit. They just oooze joy! Wonderful creatures

Not much more to add - you've all said it so wonderfully. Except to add that my life is 100% happier and healthier for having this gentleman in it.

Posts like this are out of order.
Please do not encourage these people to do illegal things like let their dogs run up to strangers.

Noone sane wants that and they might get kicked or worse. Keep your dog to yourself, no they are not friendly, not cute and not clean.

Illegal under what law?

Boomboom22 · 08/02/2024 22:32

Jovacknockowitch · 08/02/2024 22:27

Illegal under what law?

You think it's OK for a dog to approach or touch a stranger?
It's illegal for dogs to be out of control and cause people to think they'll attack. Random dogs coming up to you is an attack, you have no idea what they will do, often the owner says it's friendly but it's not friendly, trying to touch you and making loud breathing noises attempting to bite you.
If it stays 2 metres away with it's owner OK but people let them bound hundreds of metres away or even out of sight. Terrifying.

And none of the pics are nice, mist are very scary, some look vaguely neutral but still not everyone wants to be touched or stared down by these things.

Lentilweaver · 08/02/2024 22:35

My god, give it a rest, you miserable attention seeker. And I don't even have a dog. If the pix scare you, don't click!

I never wanted a dog because I was heartbroken when my cat died and I didn't want that kind of pain again. My daughter begged for 7 years and I finally caved in and we got Doris (black frenchie ) god I love this dog beyond measure and when my mum passed away suddenly she was the thing that got me up in the morning , made me smile , if only for awhile and was always there for comfort as the bottom of my world fell out in losing my beloved mum. 5 months later just before her 3rd birthday , she had a heart attack and died in my arms. The sense of grief was overwhelming and I couldn't comprehend how life could be so very cruel. The thought of another dog was too much but then we saw two frenchies in need of new homes and it felt right , they will never replace my beautiful girl but the fact they needed to be rescued helps with the guilt somewhat. Daphne and delsey help to keep me going each day and we have a mutual love for each other. Dogs are amazing and they have been a life saver for me x

Oh this made me well up 😢Your black girl looks like our boy who just turned 3! I’m so so sorry 😞 Daphne and Delsey are also beautiful.

Mydogmylife · 08/02/2024 23:03

My name says it really - my boy has seen me through some truly tough times ( bereavements , ill health ) and if it wasn’t for him there are times I probably wouldn’t have got out of bed . The happiness he brings me and dh can not be measured

eduwot · 08/02/2024 23:07

I have 3 and I'm a dog walker. I absolutely love them all. They all have totally different personalities and they make me so damn happy.

KillyTumble07 · 07/02/2024 20:29

My best friend, my educator, my swimming companion, my protector, and my bloody stubborn cow. My heart could burst. ❤️🐾

Wow he’s beautiful!!

As are ALL the boys and girls on this thread 😍

Mybeautifuldogs · 08/02/2024 23:10

🤣🤣 they are all terrifying, I honestly won't sleep tonight after this thread.

K0OLA1D · 08/02/2024 23:28

@Boomboom22 why are you looking at them then? Just leave the thread. Don't forget your grip on your way out

Witchyandtwitchy · 08/02/2024 23:50

My dog is my best friend. I love him so much.
He does water rescue work and is a registered therapy dog where he makes a huge difference on his regular visits.
If I wasn’t able to have a dog for some reason, there would be a big whole in my life.

YeOldeGreyhound · 09/02/2024 01:13

Oh FFS. A greyhound fast asleep in an Ikea bag is scary? Half the dog pics on this thread of are dogs sleeping.
If such images frighten you so much, then get some therapy.... and get off this thread. What are you getting out of commenting here?

Kittybythelighthouse · 09/02/2024 01:20

They are the best 🐶🐶

TheDowdyQueen · 09/02/2024 08:31

What are you getting out of commenting here?

Maybe they have a pathological attraction to dogs and can't help themselves? Eventually, it does all become a bit "the lady doth protest too much, methinks" Grin

doilooklikeicare · 09/02/2024 08:49

@Boomboom22 honestly if you're scared of this thread, get some help and stop opening things that will "trigger" you.

If I did have any sympathy for people that are not keen on dogs, you'd help to ensure that it would be removed, because you're being ridiculous.

I'm just off to find a scary photo of my dog!

DoggusDomesticus · 09/02/2024 08:50

@Boomboom22 I don't think you understand the title of this thread.

Rowgtfc72 · 09/02/2024 08:51

That's just prompted me to post another picture of my absolutely scary dog. He's always on a lead and I'm buggered if I'm walking him on a road to give someone two metres of space.

doilooklikeicare · 09/02/2024 08:53

Very scary photo.....

Hoglet70 · 09/02/2024 08:53

Oh my God @Boomboom22 please tell me you are being ironic. I am just laughing my head off looking back at all the scary dog pictures. Why on earth would you even be reading this thread if you had this much of an issue with dogs
sends my dog through cyber space to lick you into submission

Iheartmysmart · 09/02/2024 08:54

My old boy looking totally petrifying. How I survived living with such a ferocious beast for 12 years is a total mystery.
