You are DEFIANTLY not unreasonable OP 😏

SerpentEndBench · 13/12/2023 12:49

Yes, YABU.

Pedants' Corner is thataway --->

Getamoveon36 · 13/12/2023 12:50

I’ll file these answers in my Chester draws, upon my return from Pedants’ Corner 👍

This is all the fault of contractions.

Could’ve should’ve would’ve

arethereanyleftatall · 13/12/2023 12:52

Yanbu.

etmoiandme · 13/12/2023 12:52

A new one that seems to have suddenly crept up recently is "draw" for "drawer". First few times I though it was just careless typing but actually no, putting clothes back in the draws is standard.

And that's not even pedantry.

Yes, this!

Alarum · 13/12/2023 12:54

I know. It should be:

Wudda, cudda, shudda

EVHead · 13/12/2023 12:54

I’m even seeing Scottish people typing “draws” - we don’t even pronounce it like that! We say draw-ur or drawr. 😡

ElevenSeven · 13/12/2023 12:55

Yanbu. Ever-decreasing standards.

Angrycat2768 · 13/12/2023 12:57

No you are most definitely not! It makes no sense at all as a statement and is in no way similar to 'could have, would have and should have'.

ElevenSeven · 13/12/2023 12:57

‘I could care less’ grrrr

Notmetoo · 13/12/2023 12:57

I agree. It is extremely annoying.

Blueeyes13 · 13/12/2023 12:58

They done well 🙄

Get in the que.

etmoiandme · 13/12/2023 12:59

"They done well" I can cope with, because I think that just comes down to regional accents more than anything.

Pedants' Corner is thataway --->

It really isn't being pedantic at all.
I am pretty easy going about spelling mistakes, punctuation mistakes , missing apostrophes etc but writing of instead of have is just plain wrong.

ebts · 13/12/2023 13:02

I can't bare mistakes like those.

And their friends afew, incase and infact.

Butchyrestingface · 13/12/2023 13:05

Yes, but what can one actually DO, OP?

Can't live with it, can't batter them over the head with a shovel and bury them in the back garden, Trevor Jordache style.

Itsallfunngamesuntil · 13/12/2023 13:06

The girl done good 😡

The above drives me bonkers!

Should be - 'Clare (or whoever) did really well'

emmetgirl · 13/12/2023 13:06

Seeing "your amazing!" makes me want to scratch my eyes out.
