Big boobs

I'm five foot 3 size 12, I have massive boobs. I've been wearing a size 38FF lately. This is the only one that fits me . Which is a bit tight. I think that I'm actually a size G. But they don't stock 38GG in my local shops. I'm going to have to buy online.

I'm just a bit fed up of having big boobs! If I visit my mother she tells me to get a better bra as I'm very "booby". I look booby in everything.

I feel like I can't wear a t-shirt as I look so busty. My boobs look huge in everything. I don't mind them personally if Im just by myself.

But I just think that people over sexualise me everywhere I go. If I go to a meetup group, the men all talk to my boobs. It's very hard to dress myself without looking extremely sexual.

They are also heavy. Sometimes I just wish I had smaller boobs for an easier life!

I would be very surprised if you are a 38 given you are a size 12.

You need a proper fitting bra - it will do wonders.

FWIW I’m a size 24 with 38J breasts and whilst they’re massive they are fine in a good bra.

When much slimmer at a size 16-18 I have a 34 back. 38 is very unlikely.

Celia24 · 12/12/2023 12:04

OP, when did you last get a bra fitting? You can't completely hide having large breasts but a proper bra helps so much. Changes your silhouette and the way your breasts look in clothes

As a 36G I know.your pain but a great bra can make you look incredible. Overall I love my larger boobs. They are part of you, no point in hating them!

Mooshamoo · 12/12/2023 12:05

@Merryoldgoat im wearing size 12-14 tops.

Maybe I'm more a size 14 then size 12 then.

I was wearing size 36 bras before and they were uncomfortable. Size 38 fits me ok now.

Brastop is probably the best place to buy bras from. I agree you're unlikely to be a 38 back at a size 12.

You need to dress for your bust. Wrap dresses, belts, heart and v necklines. Avoid anything that just hangs off the boobs like a tent, it will make them look bigger!

mzdemeanour · 12/12/2023 12:06

Like PP said, if you are a size 12 it's highly unlikely you are a 38 - as a rule of thumb, you add 20 to your dress size to find your bra band size.

Try www.booborbust.com/ - booborbust which has a measuring guide which should give you a more accurate starting size.

TrashedSofa · 12/12/2023 12:07

Agree, you need a fitting.

Usernameundiscovered · 12/12/2023 12:08

same and I wish bra manufacturers would stop making all larger bras to have a minimising effect.

Merryoldgoat · 12/12/2023 12:08

Can you post a pic of you in a bra (obviously cropped) so we can see how it fits?

I'd never heard that about adding 20 but it's exactly right in my case

Op try Bravissimo they have lovely bras in large cup sizes.

CombatBarbie · 12/12/2023 12:09

Honestly go for a proper fitting or use boob or bust calculator.

I was wearing 34d/dd but now wear 32FF. I'm 5'7 and a 12....they aren't huge but I def notice a difference when wearing certain clothes.

I'd look through the sizing guides and then look on these sites for bras.

It is very much a pain in arse IME - and yes I don't really wear T-shirts with round necks - v necks are possible though. You do just factor it into clothing choices that suit your body - and often have a wrap/cardigan jacket to "hide" from stares.

A proper fitting will do wonders - I went from wearing 40/42 DD to 38GG - tranformed me and my boobs! I went to Bravisimo.

StarlightLady · 12/12/2023 12:16

I’m a 36F snd proud of my (natural) boobs. A lot of women pay a lot of money for similar.

krustykittens · 12/12/2023 12:21

I echo getting a proper fitting, OP, and I feel your pain. When I was younger I got heartily sick of men and women assuming I was a bit of a slut because I had big boobs and yes! I will make everything look booby because they are BIG! Don't let men talk to them, pull them on them, pull them on their behaviour and if they don't behave, walk away. So fecking rude!

ManateeFair · 12/12/2023 12:27

I suspect you're wearing the wrong size and probably need a smaller band and a larger cup size. If you're a 12, you are very unlikely to actually be a 38. I used to wear a 38FF too... then I got a fitting at Bravissimo and they pointed out that I'm actually either a 32 or a 34GG/H, depending on the style/brand.

Get yourself a proper bra fitting (not in M&S, they're terrible at it). Ideally go to somewhere like Bravissimo that specialises in bras for larger busts. Honestly, it's a game-changer for those of us with massive knockers. Did wonders for my confidence.

YeahIsaidit · 12/12/2023 12:31

Mine aren't particularly massive but I have a small back and can't for the life of me find anywhere that stocks cup sizes larger than a D with a small enough bandsize, even looking at some websites a lot of them start at a 32, I need 28/30

Uncooperativefingers · 12/12/2023 12:35

The smaller band size probably felt uncomfortable before as your band is trying to accommodate all the boob that doesn't fit into a too small cup.

Your boobs may also be the shape that need scooping into bras: ie parts of them go wide and towards the under arms

Mooshamoo · 12/12/2023 12:47

Hmm maybe my dress size isn't accurate then. I wear size 12-14 tops as I have done for years , but they are baggy big tipa anyeay, I think I've put on weight and am nearer a size 16 now.

Size 36 bras don't fit me at the back at all. I tried on loads of bras. Size 38 at the back and ff at the front fits me now.

Could anyone recommend a shop that does a nice sleeping bra? Something soft and comfy that just keeps them in place so you don’t turn and leave them behind in the bed!!

Merryoldgoat · 12/12/2023 13:06

@RoseMarigoldViolet

I wear these

SIMIYA Super Comfort Bra, Womens... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07T89DG3K?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

They just keep me in place whilst sleeping. No actual support!

RoseMarigoldViolet · 12/12/2023 13:10

Thanks, Merryoldgoat !

BettyBakesCakes · 12/12/2023 13:11

Agree with having a proper bra fitting at bravissimo. A good fitting bra makes a huge difference. I'd also say it's unlikely you're a 38 band.

Shamrockk · 12/12/2023 13:14

@RoseMarigoldViolet im about the same size as OP and Tesco do a good sleeping bra. I can’t link for you but they are ribbed, thin straps and come in packs of 3 around about £15. I usually wear them daily too as my chest is really heavy but I don’t have really any fat against my ribs so the underwear just cuts right in, bras without the wire give me a triangular look🤣

queencrunch · 12/12/2023 13:19

I have huge boobs. I hate them.

But

Supermarket brands are rubbish. The sizing awful.

Get to bravissimo or similar. You'd be shocked how much of a difference it makes.

But yes I'm booby in everything.

I would love a reduction but can't afford it

wizzler · 12/12/2023 13:20

Echo all the PP about getting a proper fitting bra

My other top tip is to wear v necks as so much more flattering then a higher neck
