Anyone else not put their tree up yet?

Seems most people have done theirs already, we are planning to do it this Sunday.

I'm doing it this weekend. I might even stick a little dinosaur wearing a wee Santa hat, on top of the tree to honour the thread running about the giant inflatable Dino 🎄🦖🎄.

No because only common people put their trees up early or people with fake trees which is the same thing.

I haven't, I'm not going to be peer pressured into doing it either. It will go up on the 16th, I've always done 3rd weekend in December. I haven't got the space to have it up for the 2 months, I'm not a shopping centre.

Unusually early for us - we're going for this Saturday. Wouldn't normally until about 10 days beforehand, but we are v excited as it's the first Christmas dp and I are living together, we've got loads of stuff on this month and ds has friends from uni staying the weekend of the 15th so I'd like to be decorated for that one. If it feels too much we might postpone but if we do that it will probably be the 24th.

Having a tree up at home already is vulgar.

I never bother with a tree.

I'm putting mine up today. Im busy next weekend and my son is at his dads then anyway. It'll come down before new year though.

No way, going to get it in a couple of weeks,
we get a real one and it would be dead before Christmas! Our house is very warm.
Also, as much as I love it I do also get pissed off with it taking up so much room so it’s only up for about 10 days or so, comes down on Boxing Day because we go away the day after and I don’t want to come back to have to de-Christmas the day before going back to work/school as well as sorting out the holiday washing.

I would love to do this, but we don't break up until the 22nd this year 🫨

I'll probably do it the weekend before 16th / 17th. Some people near me have had theirs up for almost a month already!!

We always do the Christmas decorating the first weekend in December though I did make a bit of a start last night as we had to dig the wooden advent calendar out from the loft, so brought everything else down too.

Mines going up this weekend, but I'm quite happy to be called vulgar and common.

We got cats and one of them likes to chew the lights cables! So it can only go up whenwe are home, some time before the 22nd.
I am looking forward to having the decorations up!

Mine is going up early this year, on the 9th, as I ordered one from the school since they had more choice of sizes than the garden centres.

Mine was up last Saturday.. got a wedding this weekend and can’t bare the thought of it going up on the 9th, feels too late for me 🤣

We will do it today as the six year is pestering us.

In theory ours is going up this weekend, but it's a pretty hectic weekend after a pretty hectic week so might be postponed a week in the interests of my sanity

Nope - ours will go up next weekend (9/10 Dec). Won’t last until Christmas otherwise.

Tomorrow. Ds wants it up, dh calls me a grinch every year as I refuse to do it until birthdays are done and his is days before Christmas, so wait until after then. But this year I've agreed, so I guess this is the new president?

That sums it up for me as well. I like to keep Christmas at Christmas, not spread out over six weeks or so.

I find that the tree makes our living room feel darker and smaller.

No way! We keep ours up to 12th night but dont put it up till a week or 2 before Xmas. And, for those who say real trees dont last, well, they wont ifyou put it up too early. But also if your tree goes brown you've bought a dud, not freshly cut the end off and/or not watered it & heating too high in the room.
