Pictures are everything. No to flip flops and a mens winter coat 🙈 No to wonky pictures of labels. For the love of god, please just put it on a hangar. Is someone charging you to take a photo or something??!!

Whowhatwherewhenwhy1 · 03/11/2023 16:39

The picture is awful. And the lines along the front do not line up which makes it look cheap. Unlist. Lay it flat, fix the lighting and take better pictures and highlight the make label . As it stands now I would scroll past if that is the first picture as it just looks cheap. I used Vinted a lot and the first image is the make or break one as to whether i bother to read the rest of the listing

zingally · 03/11/2023 16:52

Secondhand... the stitching doesn't line up, which makes it look cheaper... £20-£25 would be my best offer.

margotrose · 03/11/2023 16:54

None of the photos make it look like a decent coat. I'm really not surprised it's not selling.

Stick it on a hanger and price it at a tenner.

I don’t understand why you’re modelling a man’s coat? A bit different if you’re posting it onto the female clothing section, or as unisex/androgynous clothing, am I missing something?

Honestly just charity shop it, I find once things have been on Vinted more than about a week they never sell! Is it reeeeeally worth it for a tenner, you’ve spent a lot of time posting and thinking about it!

99% of the stuff I buy off vinted has been on for months if not years (just bought a xmas dress listed 3 years ago but was exactly what I need now).

I also have never sold anything within the first week but have sold plenty of things (including several items for high prices like a £20 tshirt, £60 pair of boots and £120 pair of boots).

You could include the pic of it on the site you originally bought it from - to show product details and original cost to demonstrate the value?

Your not allowed to do that and they can take down your ad as theres copyright issues with using photos that aren't your own.

I had a brand new Asos dress taken down for that reason even though I had real photos of it too.

Yes I learned that the hard way when I was selling a Zara jacket and feeling lazy. I used a stock image and the listing was removed within the hour so i had to relist using my own pictures.
They're really hot on that.

Ah not a vinted seller so was not aware - but you could quote the product details I guess and the original cost and state where it was from.

testedorgan · 03/11/2023 18:01

As an avid Vinted buyer and seller, I'd do £7... but expect people to haggle it down.

IvorTheEngineDriver · 03/11/2023 18:27

Large size man's coat. £15 tops.

hellohellothere · 03/11/2023 18:32

I'd say £7-£8 plus the free and postage. Especially as you can buy new for £35.

DuchessOfSausage · 03/11/2023 20:52

Hanger please. XL isn't that big.

I don’t get why if it’s brand new? eBay don’t mind.

I think they're trying to prevent scammers.
