Tips taken on board thank you, I'll take some different pictures today. It's a lovely coat, very warm and keeps the chill out. It's a shame nobody has wanted it yet but you're right maybe it's the picture off putting potential buyers as admittedly it doesn't look very flattering.

The same brand has a very similar cost for £34.99 so no idea why anyone would pay £20 plus fees plus postage on Vinted. That’s barely a saving and it’s second hand with no return policy.

Never heard of the brand but a quick google suggests coast from there new are about £50/60. I wouldn't expect to sell it second hand for more than £10, you need a better picture though :)

Forgottenmypasswordagain · 03/11/2023 12:01

Get a guy that is the right size to model it.

Blinkityblonk · 03/11/2023 12:02

I buy on Vinted a lot and you won't get that much for that type of coat- they are very common, not rare, not a great brand, I'd take better pics, put it on for a tenner max (or £8.50) and take £7 for it. That's £7 you didn't have. If that's not enough for you to bother, give it to charity.

Vinted prices are low, and nothing much is selling on Ebay as a consequence. It's just realism. High end high street stuff like Cos or good bag brands still get ok prices, but they are still usually 1/4 of what the thing cost new.

Lilq5 · 03/11/2023 12:02

The coat is DP's from a few years (and stones) ago, I dare say if I take pictures of him wearing it it'll be even less flattering bless him 😂

I don't know if it's just me, but I don't like seeing used clothes on a person.

And you're not the target market for the coat, I would say!

I agree. I’m definitely less interested if someone is wearing the item in the photo, and I buy almost all my clothes from eBay and Vinted. I think it’s because I find it harder to imagine it on myself if I’m looking at it on someone else. It’s even worse if the item doesn’t fit the person modelling it.

Blinkityblonk · 03/11/2023 12:03

Plus on Vinted, a £10 coat will cost the buyer nearly £15 with postage and insurance. It's not worth £15 second-hand. What would it go for in a charity shop? £7?

Nuca · 03/11/2023 12:03

spidermonkeys · 03/11/2023 11:55

If that's the picture you are using then I'm not surprised it isn't selling tbh.

I was going to say exactly this. It doesn't give any idea of how the coat would fit on the size it's actually meant for. I use vinted a lot and would scroll straight past that listing

Even a picture of it on a hanger would be better than that

I don't mind clothes as much, it's Shoes.

I don't like seeing other people's feet in the shoes. No one over the age of 12months has nice feet. 🤣

I was looking at womens coats on vinted today and it's all over the place. Poor quality mass produced fast fashion (missguided I am looking at you with those blooming duvet coats) are on for £50 or £60 when they don't cost much more brand new. I managed to grab a great bargain through. The Emma Willis full length black puffer coat for £30 😊

BarnacleBeasley · 03/11/2023 12:06

The website for that brand has the equivalent coat (length, style) for £47 new. The thing about selling second hand if it's not a brand people are actually looking for, is you're relying on someone to impulse-buy it and they're not going to pay as much as they would if they'd specifically set out to look for it.

Probably around £20 in my locals 😬

New £20

Lilq5 · 03/11/2023 11:54

Why not?

I doesn't look good, and the styling is pretty odd too.

misskatamari · 03/11/2023 12:10

I think with Vinted you do have to price low. When you factor in postage, and the chance that something might not fit well, and you can’t return it, as a buyer people don’t want a big risky outlay. I know I just bought two coats on there, one is a gorgeous Wallis one, the other I can’t remember brand but it’s a decent, smart coat. Each as between 12-15 quid. Definitely a bargain but I’d have been wary paying more incase I didn’t like them etc

Blinkityblonk · 03/11/2023 12:11

But it's not selling at £20 on Vinted... and people are buying coats this time of year. I have changed my strategy with Vinted- I sell more things, cheaper but not too cheap. If it's not gone within a month it goes to charity. I also sell anything I buy that isn't ok when I get it immediately, I've got back £45 on a Cos coat, £15 on a nice jacket that doesn't suit me.

Good photo, competitive price, say you are prepared to negotiate and it might go!

That is not a good picture to use to sell it.
Maybe take photos of label, cuffs etc & link to the coat on a website.
Not heard of brand so maybe sell for £10.
I usually donate winter coats to food bank as they often have folk in need of one.

BIossomtoes · 03/11/2023 12:12

Seriously? Who gives a second hand coat as a Christmas present?

Seriously? Who gives a second hand coat as a Christmas present?

I buy plenty of my DC's Xmas presents second hand, they're little so wouldn't be impressed with a clothing item as a present but I've bought jumpers etc for my DM over the years?

Candymay · 03/11/2023 12:15

I know you name changed etc but why did you keep yourself in the photo? But to the point- price would depend on brand and condition. But generally for a second hand coat no more than 20£

MrsSkylerWhite · 03/11/2023 12:16

SEcondhand? £10. New in TK Maxx, £20.

Couldn’t give a monkey’s for “brands”. It’s not an attractive coat. Looks warm, though.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 03/11/2023 12:16

What's it made of?
Who is it made by?

Puffer coats are not all equal !

Probably £5 if it's polyester pasting from Asda.
£100 if recycled down from Patagonia / Arteryx etc
