Looks nicer on this dude! But new £47.99 you are unlikely to get £20 for it used.

Either photograph it on a man of the right size or On a hanger and I wouldn't pay more than a tenner

It was more than that when DP bought it. I agree it looks better in the professional picture though.

Surely it depends on the brand?

MinnieL · 03/11/2023 13:06

OP I’ve had a look at the post on Vinted and you honestly can’t be serious! The second picture? What the hell is that about😂

Please just delete the listing and upload it again. This time have the coat on a hanger and hang it on a door. Make sure you have good lighting with the coat zipped to the top.

Your best bet is putting it up for £15 and hoping someone purchases it for a tenner.

Edited to say: You can also screenshot a picture from the website so that people can see how it may look on them

housethatbuiltme · 03/11/2023 13:10

I had to google to see its a £130-£140 coat... frankly thats daylight robbery but if you will pay for brand names thats what you get. Its not even a brand I ever heard of though.

From the photo I honestly assumed it was that oversized Asda puffa jacket all the kids wanted a few years ago... being modelled by the child. So not worth much (was the asda one even £20 originally?).

Frankly I wouldn't even pay £10 people are suggesting. I personally think its downright ugly and first impressions is always that puffa type jacked are inherently 'chavvy'.

My kid does have one that looks like that because he cares not one jot about fashion even for him though second hand on vinted I wouldn't pay over £5.

For the original price I could get a leather jacket or probably two nice high street winter coats and for £20 I could easily get a nice winter coat on vinted so no I wouldn't buy it.

GuitarGeorgina · 03/11/2023 13:10

I don’t think I would (or only a nominal amount). It looks shapeless and like it has seen better days. Sorry!

toomanyleggings · 03/11/2023 13:12

Fiver maybe

Mikimoto · 03/11/2023 13:15

I think you're only allowed to wear those if you live in Leeds or Sheffield?

Luxell934 · 03/11/2023 13:15

I’d shocked if someone actually bought it for £10 to be honest.

£5-£7 max

LisbonKid · 03/11/2023 13:16

Donate to local homeless charity as looks lovely and warm🥰

housethatbuiltme · 03/11/2023 13:16

Also I just checked vinted... 2 identical his column coats came up.

1 is yours at £20 (£24.19 after fees and postage).

The other listed with more flattering photos of it just on a hanger showing the label/logo was listed only £12.

WeeDove · 03/11/2023 13:17

There are several similar costs for 8 euro in local charity shop near work. Just did a lap of it on my way to buy soup.

But you must know that’s not relevant? You can’t put in the blurb I know you can buy new for less than 50 quid and it looks a bit done in, but honestly he paid more for it a few years ago.

if it is 47 quid new now, then it’s max a tenner now.

AInightingale · 03/11/2023 13:18

You can buy new coats that look like this from any low cost fashion store, so obviously people aren't interested. I think people just look like hot water cylinders in these type of jackets, sorry.

Can you tell me how it looks done in? It's barely worn?

Sorry the brand is "his column"

I've listed it on vinted months ago and now depop and it isn't selling and no interest. It's on for £20 and I was wondering whether it seemed too much?

I sold a worn ONCE absolutely excellent condition North face men's jacket for 20. Honestly this is a 5 pound or donation amount. These jackets are going for a few pounds on Vinted and charity shops. I would just donate anything under 10.

This.

With Vinted, I find that unless items are new with tags then people are only willing to pay a couple of quid for them. You also have to factor in Vinted fees and postage cost so suddenly the price of the item no longer seems reasonable for a second hand item.

Wendysfriend · 03/11/2023 13:22

It's like something out of that movie Big with Tom Hanks 🤣🤣

Wheredidyougonow · 03/11/2023 13:22

Puffer jackets are EVERYWHERE now. You can pick them up anywhere. Why on earth would someone pay 20 for this when you can get something brand new for almost that??

I bought a similar cost brand new in a nice colour in a better cut for £70.

Second hand, bad cut, black? Yeah £10 maximum. But your problem muht be that you’re selling a man’s item on a site mostly used by women.

InTheRainOnATrain · 03/11/2023 13:25

Just give it to a homeless shelter or charity shop. It’s a not very good quality coat that could be bought new for under £50 so honestly I don’t think it’s worth the cost of the postage.

RosesAndHellebores · 03/11/2023 13:25

Why are you so bothered op? You tried. It hasn't sold. Take it to the charity shop.
