Just wanted to put a different spin on all the negative dog threads recently.

thought it would be nice for people to share their amazing pooches. So any photos/funny stories!

This is my gorgeous girl. She loves all people and would choose a bit of attention from a stranger over any treats. She hates water and car drives but always loves the destination (even the vets!)

would love to see what little joys you have in your life!

Haven’ t seen any negative threads other than those about XL bullies. Which is perfectly reasonable.

She’s lovely.

AlizeeEasy · 25/09/2023 11:42

A thread got deleted this morning basically criticising people for loving their dogs and “treating them like children”

I foster abused dogs.

The history some of these dogs come to me with, makes me really hate humans. I'm not surprised some dogs bite, given how they're treated.

Anywho, I can't describe how awesome it is, when you've taken in such a scared mistreated dog, and what my time, love, care and work can do. The trust you get from them, when they realise you're not going to hurt them.

Or the first time you see their pure joy, when they're playing with toys properly, for the first time in their life, or they're running around in the woods or beach etc. We don't deserve dogs. My user name is from affection of my latest foster.

Here’s my old boy. He’s 13 now with quite bad arthritis and other health issues so I know we’re on borrowed time.

He loves people and other dogs, hates the car and getting wet.

Here's my best friend Nyla, she is the most chilled and loving dog and I love her with my whole heart ❤️, she loves off lead walks, recall is great, she doesn't bother any other people or dogs on walks, she just potters round sniffing and minds her business!. She sleeps in bed with me tucked behind my legs (every night she gives me a leg wash 🤣).She comes everywhere with me where dogs are allowed and she is so well behaved.I just honestly love her to bits!!
Bonus points if you can guess what breeds she is!

Harley our 2 year old Staffy. I'm a childminder and he adores the children and they adore him. Had him from a puppy so he grew up with my job.
Have already had people accusing me of having a vicious dog......

Love my dog - he’s loyal, loving and just full of joy, everything I do with him he thinks it’s the best thing ever in the world!

He’s not bothered by other people or dogs he just loves to run, sniff, run, retrieve and run a bit more

Being out in the fresh air with him by my side makes me happier than I ever imagined

I genuinely don't know how you do it - I know we'd be instant foster fails.

This year we adopted our most challenging rescue yet, a Romanian pup who came to us so terrified of everything that he didn't leave his crate for the first week, and the rescue were totally up-front with us about their expectation that he would never be a "normal" dog, and that it was possible he'd never accept human contact. We felt so bad for the foster family, because we could tell they really didn't want to let him go - it's always the hardest cases that create the strongest attachment, I guess.

Fortunately, our Akita's very much a mama-dog - she's got form for rebuilding broken dogs (our Chihuahua was basically feral and brain-damaged when we got her, and she's somewhat typical now), and she's worked wonders with him - he's still timid a lot of the time, but after five months he actually sits with us every night and demands fuss. Seeing the two of them play is absolutely incredible, and she's actually worked quite hard to help him trust us (it's an amazing thing to see, and I'd never have believed it if someone had told me what she'd do).

We adopted a stray. We had some work to do with him because of things like cars and him not liking loud noise. (Mum had to pick him up and bring him into the front room as he didn't like the TV noise) He also took 5 days before he even barked.

He died last year at the age of 13 of a stroke.

There is so much dog hate on MN, it's really weird. I don't know anyone in real life who doesn't love dogs, my friend has three and I love spending time with them.
Thank you all for sharing pics of your furbabies (yes I said it!)
