Just wanted to put a different spin on all the negative dog threads recently.

thought it would be nice for people to share their amazing pooches. So any photos/funny stories!

This is my gorgeous girl. She loves all people and would choose a bit of attention from a stranger over any treats. She hates water and car drives but always loves the destination (even the vets!)

would love to see what little joys you have in your life!

@HalliwellManor I'm so sorry you lost your son, its so hard and not something any parent should have to endure.

My last dog was a daft, gentle lump. He grew up with my son, they loved each other so much. He died a year after my son and it felt like losing another huge part of my life that still had my son in...if that makes any sense.

I swore I'd never get another but here I am with a ridiculous ball of fluff.

He makes me smile even on the bad days

Thankyou so much ❤️,and I'm so sorry to hear about your son,and your lovely dog.
Yes,it makes complete sense what you say about losing another part of your son when your dog passed too,I would have felt exactly the same if I were in your shoes💔.
My son only had a year with our dog before he passed, but I have lots of memories and videos of them together,he gave her the best belly rubs as she always made a funny noise when he rubbed her belly, like a piggy snort type noise!,they loved each other very much and I always think does she ever wonder why he just disappeared suddenly?
It's wonderful you have another dog as they bring so much love and joy and really do make the dark times a lot brighter xx

Oh i love this thread 😌 Here’s Bells! We rescued her from a family who just didn’t want her anymore and it was evident she’s never been shown much love or attention. So we’ve changed that completely now and she is treated like a lil princess

Harley our 2 year old Staffy. I'm a childminder and he adores the children and they adore him. Had him from a puppy so he grew up with my job.
Have already had people accusing me of having a vicious dog......

Love how he's enjoying his Camden Hells 🤣

Hopskiplou · 26/09/2023 19:48

What a lovely thread! I also have a rescue who has come on in leaps and bounds following being failed time and again by humans. She’s an absolute joy, the rewards are endless and she’s one of the best things in my life.

I have Covid and feel rank. My one year old labradoodle has not left my side for three days.

xxRunnergirlxx · 26/09/2023 20:22

I needed this thread today after seeing all the dog bashing threads recently! My two dogs are my saviours, I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for them.

7 month old teenage goon of a pup. But he's our goon. This is his 'begging for bacon' face.

Here is my boy - he is a delightful chap, loves everyone and everything - always happy, brings me his toys as he likes to share - I love him to pieces!

The biggest goofy smile! Makes us laugh so much. Our walker/trainer taught him pose so every time a camera comes out he does 😂

I love dogs but for various reasons I cannot have one.
For those in a similar situation I highly recommend walking rescue dogs. It is so rewarding seeing them grow in confidence.

Catsmere · 26/09/2023 22:21

@RockSocks that photo is adorable, I’ve never seen a dog on the chairs under the table before - I take it your cat is teaching her well!

Went on our walk this afternoon and came across an elderly woman who wanted to greet my dog, she said she sees us on our walk everyday from her house and it’s always the best part of her day. I wanted to cry, I’m so happy she finally got to meet her, my little one gave her a lot of love and attention

My greyhound had a lot of attention during the Covid lockdowns. She brought joy to people that were just walking about to get out the house.
It always made me feel happy to think she was bringing some brightness to somoene's day, but also sad too.

Snugglywhippet · 26/09/2023 23:11

@YeOldeGreyhound Looks just like our georgious boy! We were told he is a whippet cross, he is bigger than a whippet but smaller than a greyhound.

Poochypaws · 26/09/2023 23:14

Loving all your dog pics. Here's mine. Almost 10 now.

Edited

I'm always surprised at how big whippets are - I thought of them as much the same size as Italian greyhounds.

A canine version of the "always read the instructions before assembling your cat" meme aka Ikea cat/dog! 😄
